Our senior hurlers played Feoghanagh in round 2 of the West senior hurling league on Saturday night and won on a scoreline of 6-32 to 1-12. Our senior footballers also claimed their second win of the west league beating Drombroadford 0-18 to 0-8. Huge congrats to our junior footballers who beat Feenagh Kilmeedy after extra time in the west junior B football final of 2020 which finished on a scoreline of Adare 1-11 Feenagh Kilmeedy 1-10.
Our Adare Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning u/15 hurlers had a fun filled team bonding outing at Derg Isle Activity Centre Mount-Shannon Co. Clare recently before the start of their Championship. The day got off to a great start as the boys were very lucky to get an inspiring talk from none other than Lenister Head Coach Leo Cullen. They spent the next two hours canoeing in the River Shannon to help their strength and coming back for a number of activities that help them work more collaboratively and really build a good team spirit. Padraig Giblin the owner of the activity centre also took time out to give the boys a great chat about life lessons and always trying to be the best we can be. The boys were delighted to see the burgers coming at the end of the long day. We hope this is something our boys will remember for a long time and will stand to them for their entire playing careers. Adare GAA would like to thank everyone at Derg Isle especially Alfie and Padraig for a wonderful day. We would also like to thank Leo Cullen for giving of his time. Thanks also to Sile Gleeson who made all this happen.
Hogan Dowling McNamara Solicitors u/9 hurlers took on Mungret in their first hurling blitz of the year in the Manor Fields on Friday evening last. 32 boys played their heart out and showed fantastic effort, commitment, and skill to compete. The future is very bright for Adare with boys this age showing such determination and skill.
Pat Collins Bar and Restaurant sponsored u/17s hurlers continue with training this week and the numbers have been excellent even through the boy’s exams before their summer holidays. Now that we are back a full squad, training has been going well and they are looking forward to a couple of challenge matches in preparation for the Championship which kicks off early July.
We have a number of underage teams in action this week and we wish them all the very best of luck especially those starting off their Championship.
