When Limerick and Clare meet on this Sunday, it will their fourth meeting over the past two years,
On Sunday 3rd March 2019 the sides met on a cold day with showers of snow in Cusack Park, and despite the weather conditions the sides served up a very competitive game which finished level Clare 2.11 Limerick 1.14.
In the Munster Championship the sides met in Round 4 at LIT Gaelic Grounds on Sunday 9th. June where Limerick scored a 1.28 to 0.13 win.
Earlier this year in Sixmilebridge, in the Munster Senior Hurling Limerick once again scored victory on a 1.27 to 1.19 scoreline
It will be all to play for when they meet in Semple Stadium Thurles on Sunday where Limerick are defending two titles, Munster Senior Hurling and Allianz Hurling League. In the Allianz Hurling League which commenced on 25th. January and played to Wednesday 4th. March. Limerick won all their games in Division 1a while Clare won 4 and drew 1, in Division 1b. Because of Covid 19 Restrictions it was decided a straight Final would be played which double up with the Munster Championship Quarter Final, so a lot at stake on a Sunday in October
