Athea GAA Club Notes:
Developments at Pairc na nGael:
Fantastic progress has been made over the past week at Pairc na nGael, with the resurfacing and lining of the Car Park now complete. Our main car park now has 49 spaces, including a dedicated disability car parking space, and an Age Friendly car space. Motorists are asked to respect this courtesy space and leave it free for older people in the community who may need it. We also added some guidance to our walking track by adding the length of one lap ( 714m) and the numbers of laps required to complete 5km (7 Laps). The car park was funded by the Clár Programme with the shortfall made up by the Club. By supporting our Split the Bucket Draw, purchasing Athea GAA Membership and supporting our Club Development & Limerick Draw, you are helping to fund these projects.
Step to the Beat:
Step to the Beat will return on Thursday November 9th for six weeks from 7pm – 8pm. During this hour, music will play over our speaker system and those who attend will be free to walk/jog on our track with music playing in the background as a motivational factor and to beat the winter blues! Split the bucket entries can also be purchased during this hour. Looking forward to seeing you then. Everyone is welcome.

Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday January 14th at 7.30pm at Con Colbert Memorial Hall. All members are invited to attend.

U9s
Our U9s played in the annual Buicke Tournament in Castlemahon last Sunday to finish off the year. They had a great game against a brilliant Castlemahon team, with both sides showing brilliant skills in tough conditions, Castlemahon coming out victorious in the end taking home the Buicke cup. All was not lost though we retained the shield for another year which our captain Tiernan Fitzgerald was delighted to accept for his Athea team. Massive thanks to Castlemahon who run a brilliant competition every year. The Club is already looking forward to next year, and seeing these kids progress.
