Junior A Football:
Unfortunately the year ended for our Junior A Footballers who exited at the semi final stage for the 2nd year in a row after an epic battle with Camogue Rovers in UL on Saturday evening. In what was a close and exciting game all through, and some fantastic scores from both sides it came down to a very controversial ending with the lads up by a point, an incredible 6 mins of injury time was played out of nowhere and when Camogue kicked an equaliser the whistle was blown for full time. We had to go again for extra time and with the injuries piling up after a very busy few weeks the lads ran out of legs and the scoreline at the end did not reflect the game. I think we can feel very hard done by with a lot of bewildering decisions going against us on the night but best of luck to Camogue Rovers in the final. An incredible effort from the lads and with us having such a small player base & nearly all the lads being dual players, thanks so much to everyone who wore the jersey with pride this year. The effort required is huge to play both codes and hopefully all the lads will be back on board to go again next year. Thanks so much to the management team of Bobby Fenton, John Collins & Johnny McAuliffe for all the hard work throughout the year. See ye all in 2024.
