Rathkeale GAA Club Notes:
Club Secretary Changes Hands:
The baton of Club Secretary has been handed over in recent days, as our long serving and outgoing Secretary, Pat Sheahan, decided to call time on his role in our AGM, prior to Christmas. This was Pat’s second stint in the role, serving the Club for the last 17 years and many more years in other roles.
During his tenure, he was instrumental in bringing great success to the Club both on and off the field. Pat oversaw great successes on the field when we were crowned Junior A Football Champions in 2011, followed by winning the Intermediate Championship in 2013. The U21 Premier Football Title followed late in 2013, while switching code we claimed the 2017 West Junior A Hurling title.
Off the field, Pat is a consistent driving force behind the Club Limerick Draw and the Rathkeale GAA Club Christmas Draw, which is now entering its 72nd year. The monies raised help in the continued development of The Bog Garden, which now boasts a sand based pitch and a spectators stand, the progress is ongoing.
The appetite, dedication and hunger that Pat brought to the role will be sorely missed and will always be greatly appreciated. Rathkeale GAA Club would like to sincerely thank Pat for all his efforts and we wish him, his wife Mary and family all the very best in his retirement as Club Secretary. Luckily enough, Pat is happy to continue in helping out within the club and sub committees.
As 2023 commences, we are delighted to announce that Eoin Duggan will take on the mantle of Club Secretary, with the support and assistance of Jimmy Dillane, Dean Maune and Frank Geary. We wish Eoin and his colleagues every success in fulfilling the duties of Club Secretary going forward.
