MONALEEN GAA CLUB NOTES

RETURN TO PLAY: The return to underage training in pods of 15 permitted in recent weeks has brought a new lease of life back to our clubhouse and Peafield Road pitches which are in tip top shape. It is great to see the excitement of all our budding young stars who have enjoyed their return to on-field training. We must continue to comply wholeheartedly with the guidelines set out for the return to under-age training in full. We thank everyone for their compliance in this regard.
Reminder to Parents:
– Face coverings must be worn at all times by parents. Please try and limit time spent on sidelines.
– Parents please keep 2m apart
– Complete Health Questionnaire (or reconfirm health status for subsequent training sessions)
– Bring own labelled water bottle
– Come togged out for training
– Use toilet before coming to training
– Do not share gear, water bottles etc with team-mates
– Leave immediately after training
– Do not come to training if unwell

CONGRATULATIONS: Congrats to Monaleen’s Donal O’Sullivan, Brian Donovan and Luke Murphy who are members of the Limerick senior football squad which defeated Tipperary in Division 3 South of the Allianz Football League at the LIT Gaelic Grounds on Saturday last. Donal is a joint-captain of the Limerick side this year, while Brian kicked two crucial second half points in the home side’s 1-13 to 0-14 victory. Limerick face a trip to Tullamore to take on Offaly this Saturday, 3pm.
LIMERICK CAMOGIE SQUAD: Congratulations to Monaleen’s Megan O’Mara and Caoimhe Lyons who have been included in the Limerick senior camogie squad for 2021. Limerick begin their Littlewoods Ireland Division 1 Camogie League campaign with a fixture against Clare at Fr McNamara Park, Ennis, this Saturday at 4pm. Best of luck to the players and management team.
NOTICE TO MONALEEN GAA CLUB MEMBERS: There is a glimmer of hope on the horizon that supporters may be allowed attend the All-Ireland Final this year. If so, as in every other year the club will allocate its tickets amongst paid-up club members only. The deadline for payment this year has been extended to May 31st. If you wish to be included, you must have paid in full prior to that date.
CLOTHES DRIVE: After our very successful CLOTHES DRIVE last year we are holding another on Saturday, May 29 in aid of Monaleen GAA, Camogie and LGFA. Bags of clothes can be dropped off at the clubhouse on Friday, May 28 from 6pm to 8pm and again on Saturday, May 29 from 10am to 12 noon. Please donate any clean, unwanted clothes, also bed linen, towels, curtains, paired shoes, bags and belts. No duvets, pillows or wet, dirty or damaged clothes please. Thank you for your support.
LOTTO: The latest Lotto draw took place on Thursday, May 13 with the jackpot standing at €20,000. The numbers drawn were 14, 21, 25 and 34. Winners of the €50 lucky dips were T. Tarpey, Fairways; E. Daly, Carrigeen; K. Bartley, Thornfields. Thank you for your continued support.
LIMERICK HURLERS: Limerick senior hurlers play their third game in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League this Sunday when travelling to Walsh Park to face Waterford. Throw-in is at 3.45pm and the game is live on TG4. Best of luck to the Limerick players and management team.
