On this date Saturday 25th.2020, Limerick Senior Hurlers and Footballers got their Allianz League underway, just two weeks after lifting the Co –Op Superstores Munster Hurling League and McGrath Cup, it was to prove a very successful start to what was going to be a very successful year for both teams.
The hurlers made the journey to meet All Ireland Hurling Champions Tipperary in Semple Stadium, it was the clash of Champions – All Ireland and Allianz League Champions, in Division 1 Allianz Hurling League after a well contested game it was the visitors that secured victory defeating the hosts by a two point margin 2.14 to 0.18 to get the League campaign off to a winning start.
Meanwhile the footballers were making their second visit in three weeks to Fraher Field in Dungarvan, where they met Waterford in the opening game in Division 4 Allianz Football League and scored a well merited 1.10 to 0.10 win to secure a valuable brace of League points.
