🔴🏐⚾Monaleen GAA 2025 Review 🏐⚾ 🔴:
2025 was another exciting and progressive year for Monaleen. There was no shortage of competitive spirit across all adult men’s teams in both hurling and football. Every squad represented the club with pride, and the collective effort across the grades continues to strengthen the foundations of Monaleen GAA.
The senior hurlers delivered a season of further progression. Their championship performances throughout the campaign earned them promotion to Senior Division 1A—a major milestone for the group and the club. Ultimately bowing out at the County Quarter-Final stage, but not without demonstrating the quality and depth that will serve them well at the higher grade next year. Promotion speaks volumes about the direction this team is heading, and the experience gained this season will undoubtedly fuel further ambition.
Our Premier Junior A hurlers showed impressive consistency across both league and championship. They played seven league matches, advancing all the way to the City Final. In championship, they again put in a strong showing over seven matches, reaching the County Quarter-Final. This group continues to be a vital pipeline of talent and competition within the club, pushing standards and providing depth across the adult hurling setup.
The Junior B hurlers delivered a spirited championship campaign. They competed in five championship matches, progressing to the City Semi-Final. The U20 hurlers played four championship matches, reaching the County Semi-Final, a strong achievement in a highly competitive grade
The senior footballers delivered a season defined by grit, organisation, and competitiveness. Across five league matches they showed excellent improvement, and in championship they battled through six tough encounters before bowing out at the County Quarter-Final stage. Their consistency—pushing every opponent, staying in games right to the final whistle, and proving they belong among the county’s top footballing sides. Their performances have laid a strong foundation for the next season.
The club’s football pathway teams also enjoyed productive and encouraging campaigns. The Junior A footballers completed five league and five championship matches, gaining valuable game time and maintaining a strong competitive edge throughout. Meanwhile, the U20 footballers reached the County Semi-Final after three championship outings, highlighting the depth of emerging talent and the promising future of football within the club.
Across all grades, Monaleen’s adult men’s teams demonstrated commitment, ambition, and a clear upward trajectory. From the senior hurlers’ promotion to Division 1A, to the competitive edge shown by the senior footballers, to the depth and development visible in every squad, the club continues to build.
🔴🏐⚾Juvenile boys Club Highlights 2025 🏐⚾🔴:

🔴🏐Monaleen Ladies Football – 2025 Season Review 🏐🔴:
Monaleen remains the largest Ladies Football club in County Limerick, with our playing membership growing again this year. From our enthusiastic U6s to our ever‑popular Mothers & Others group, the club continues to thrive at every level.
In 2025, we fielded seven competitive teams from U14 to Adult, playing more than 70 competitive fixtures. At underage level (U12 and below), over 280 girls took part in more than 60 games and blitzes, highlighting the strength and depth of our youngest age groups.
The U13s reached the League Novice Shield Final, narrowly losing to Adare, but bounced back with an excellent Championship run, finishing on a high with a superb win over Adare in the D Final.
The U14s reached the League A Final—the highest level a Monaleen U14 team has reached in many years—and were unfortunate to lose out to St. Ailbe’s. They followed this with a brilliant Championship campaign (three wins and a draw), eventually contesting the Championship A Cup Final, losing by only a small margin to Drom/Broadford.
Our U16s had an exceptionally busy season, playing 19 competitive games across two teams. Both sides competed strongly in tough groups and were unlucky to miss out on League semi‑final places. The White team advanced to the Championship B Cup Final, delivering a fantastic performance before losing to Drom/Broadford.
A major milestone this year saw Monaleen field two Feile teams for the first time, competing in both Division 1 and Division 2.
Our minor team opened their season with two impressive League wins before bowing out at the semi‑final stage. They regrouped superbly for Championship, producing strong performances throughout October and November and losing out to Ahane by just a single point in the B Semi‑Final.
Our adult team enjoyed another very positive year. Competing at Intermediate level for the first time, they recorded excellent Championship wins over Athea and Adare. Their season culminated in victory in the Intermediate B Final in October—a remarkable achievement in their debut year at this grade.
🔴⚾2025 – A Year to Remember for Monaleen Camogie ⚾🔴:
2025 proved to be another exciting and progressive year for Monaleen Camogie. With almost 300 girls playing across all age groups from Under 6 to Adult, we once again proudly held the title of the largest camogie club in Limerick.
This year we had huge numbers of girls taking part in camogie blitzes, with huge turnouts across all age groups. At competitive underage level, we fielded two teams each at U13, U14, and U16. All three first teams reached their respective A finals—an outstanding achievement that reflects the commitment and hard work of both players and coaches. While results didn’t fall our way on the day, competing consistently at the top tier is something everyone involved can be immensely proud of.
Our U13 second team, made up largely of U12 players, also enjoyed a brilliant season, capping it off by winning the D Final.
Our Minor U18s enjoyed an impressive campaign, going unbeaten in their group games. Narrowly missing out on an A Cup semi-final place on scoring difference, they responded in style by going on to win the A Shield. This victory marked four A-level Minor titles in a row, following Shield success in 2024 and A Cup triumphs in 2022 and 2023.
At adult level, our second team had an outstanding season, winning the Division 4 League in June after an unbeaten campaign. They then competed in the Junior A Championship delivering strong performances throughout the competition.
The highlight of the year was undoubtedly the remarkable progress of our Senior Camogie team. Under the guidance of manager Tim McGrath, this young side, with an average age of just 19, enjoyed a fantastic season. They won all of their group games and semi-final to reach the County Senior Final for the first time in the club’s history. Although they were defeated by a very experienced and talented Newcastle West side.
We are immensely proud of all our players, coaches, and volunteers and look forward with great optimism to seeing this talented group continue to grow and achieve even more in the years ahead.
Thank you for your support in 2025, and we look forward to your continued support in 2026.
