Limerick Hurling:

Dillon Quirke Foundation:
Mungret St. Paul’s were delighted to present a cheque for €2,500 to Dan Quirke, on behalf of the Dillon Quirke Foundation, on Monday, 8 December 2025. The funds were raised through the sale of the special-edition Dillon Quirke jersey, launched at the official opening of the pitches on 20 September. The club would like to acknowledge the hard work of the club shop staff and, in particular, COBI Sports for designing the jersey and managing its sale. A contribution of €5 from every child’s jersey and €10 from every adult jersey was donated to the fantastic Dillon Quirke Foundation—an organisation from which many of our players have already benefited through their health checks. The Foundation aims to raise awareness of SADS and reduce the number of young people dying from the condition through a national cardiac screening programme. We are proud that our club jersey will help promote and support this vital cause.

U20 Premier Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-10 Cappagh Rathkeale 0-6
Mungret St. Pauls U-20 footballers booked their place in the Premier Championship semi-final with a composed and well-earned victory over Cappagh Rathkeale, producing a strong second-half display to pull clear of stubborn opposition.
The opening exchanges were lively, with Mungret St. Pauls opening the scoring from play inside the first few minutes before Cappagh Rathkeale responded with a point of their own. A well-taken free restored Mungret St. Pauls lead, and the home side began to gain control midway through the first half. A crucial two-point free gave Mungret St. Pauls a three-point cushion and set the tone for the remainder of the half.
Cappagh Rathkeale stayed in touch through scores from play, but Mungret St. Pauls continued to apply pressure, registering another excellent two-pointer from open play. Despite a late flurry from the visitors, Mungret St. Pauls finished the half strongly with a point from play to take a deserved 0-7 to 0-5 lead into the break.
The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls tighten their grip on proceedings. A fine score from play shortly after the restart extended the lead, while Cappagh Rathkeale just got a single score in the entire second period.
The defining moment of the match arrived near the end of the match when Mungret St. Pauls broke through for a superbly worked goal from play, effectively ending any hopes of a Cappagh Rathkeale comeback. A late free added further gloss to the scoreboard as Mungret St. Pauls closed out the game professionally to secure a 1-10 to 0-6 victory.
This was a mature and controlled performance from Mungret St. Pauls, highlighted by excellent shooting efficiency, strong defensive structure, and key contributions from play at crucial moments.
Mungret St. Pauls now turn their attention to the U-20 Premier Championship Semi-Final, where they will face Monaleen on Saturday, 20th December at 1:30pm in UL North Campus.
Best of luck to the panel and management as preparations continue.

Healthy Club:
We would like to thank Martin Stackpoole and Conor Bohane from the GPA who facilitated Movember Mental Health workshops with a group of players and parents in our club. It was a very informative evening for all. We look forward to welcoming the team back in the new year to work with another group of players on the important topic of mental health and wellbeing.

AGM:
The Club’s Annual General Meeting took place on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at the Community Centre. Thank you to everyone who attended what proved to be a very positive and productive evening. We reflected on and celebrated the club’s many achievements over the past year, both on and off the pitch. Sincere thanks to all who contributed throughout the year — our players, coaches, parents, members, volunteers, local schools, sponsors, and the dedicated members of our various committees. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated and vital to the success of the club. We also confirmed the elected Executive Committee positions for 2026. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Stephen Dilworth for his excellent work as Treasurer and to warmly welcome Aileen Harrington as our incoming Treasurer.
We look forward to another exciting year ahead for the club.
