Mungret/St Pauls GAA Club Notes:Premier Junior A Football:
Mungret/St. Pauls 1-6 Feenagh Kilmeedy 2-8
Mungret/St. Pauls bowed out of the Premier Junior A Football Championship at the quarter-final stage on Monday 27 October 2025 in Sean Finn Park, as Feenagh Kilmeedy proved the sharper side in front of goal to take a five-point victory. Despite a strong spell midway through the first half and a determined second-half fightback, Mungret St. Pauls couldn’t quite overturn the early deficit.
Feenagh Kilmeedy opened the scoring after four minutes with a pointed free, but Mungret St. Pauls were quick to respond through a well-taken score from play a minute later. The early exchanges were evenly matched, but a flurry of frees saw Feenagh Kilmeedy edge ahead before striking a crucial goal on 11 minutes to push them 1-2 to 0-1 in front.
Mungret St. Pauls battled hard to settle again, and while Feenagh Kilmeedy added another free, a fine point from play on 14 minutes kept the city men in touch. Further points were exchanged as Mungret St. Pauls persistence began to tell — a tidy score on 22 minutes reduced the gap before an outstanding two-point strike from the sideline at 24 minutes left just two between the sides at half time: Mungret St. Pauls 0-5, Feenagh Kilmeedy 1-4.
The second half began tightly, both defences standing firm until the 13th minute when Feenagh Kilmeedy pointed from play to move three clear. Mungret St. Pauls hit back in style just two minutes later, a well-worked team move finished to the net to level the contest at 1-5apiece and give real hope of turning the tide.
However, Feenagh Kilmeedy responded strongly, landing a two-pointer from play and a free in quick succession to reopen a three-point cushion. Mungret St. Pauls kept fighting, adding another point from play on 24 minutes to stay within striking distance at 1-6 to 1-8. As the game entered its closing stages, Mungret St. Pauls pushed forward in search of another goal, but were caught on the break in injury time as Feenagh Kilmeedy finished to the net to seal the win, 2-8 to 1-6. It was a spirited display from Mungret St. Pauls, who showed real character throughout and will take plenty of positives from a strong campaign that saw several young players make their mark at adult level.
We would like to acknowledge and thank all the players and coaches who were involved with this team during the year.
Senior Football:

Mungret St. Pauls march into County Final after epic one-point win. Mungret St. Pauls are heading to the Limerick Senior Football Championship Final after a pulsating one-point victory over Adare on Saturday 1 November in Askeaton. In a contest that ebbed and flowed from the first whistle, Mungret St. Pauls showed immense composure, discipline, and belief to edge a heavyweight battle sealing their place in the county final against Newcastle West on Sunday, 9 November in Mick Neville Part at 3.30pm.
Mungret St. Pauls burst out of the blocks in style, taking complete control of the opening exchanges. Inside the first five minutes, John Hutton (two frees), Brendan Giltenane, and Shane Barry all found the target to give Mungret St. Pauls a commanding 0-4 to 0-0 lead.

Adare’s sharpness from placed balls kept them in touch, but Hutton continued to punish fouls at the other end, splitting the posts again on 14 minutes. As the half wore on, Adare began to find more joy in attack, landing three points in quick succession to edge in front by 1-5 to 0-6. Mungret St. Pauls, though, showed their trademark resilience — a two-pointer from Hutton steadied the ship, before James Killian and Darragh O’Sullivan added superb scores to send Mungret St. Pauls in 0-10 to 1-6 ahead at the break.
Adare came out strongly after the restart, reeling off three unanswered points to turn the game in their favour, 1-8 to 0-10. The intensity rose as both sides went to the bench, with Tom Lloyd and Diarmaid Hynes introduced to freshen things up.
A two-pointer from Adare stretched the gap to three, but Mungret St. Pauls dug deep. A Shane Barry free on 46 minutes began the fightback, followed by a fine effort from Jack McCarthy to make it a one-point game once again.
As legs tired, both sides traded scores Oisín Moss struck from play to keep Mungret St. Pauls within touching distance, and the substitutes made a huge impact. Hynes, full of energy, fired over two superb points before Barry added two more — one from a free and one from play to cap a stellar individual display.

Grow a Mo for Joe:
Mungret St. Paul’s continue to remember with great fondness our dear friend and clubman Joe Harrington, who sadly passed away in October 2022. Joe was a passionate GAA man a loyal supporter of our club, always willing to volunteer, and even took part in our Movember campaign back in 2013. His passing left an immense void felt by his family, friends and Mungret St. Pauls, but Joe’s warmth, kindness, and spirit continue to inspire us all. Joe’s wife Aileen, and children Liam, J.J., and Rosa, remain deeply grateful for the kindness and support shown by the exceptional care provided by the staff at Milford Hospice during Joe’s illness and afterwards.
This November 2025, our players and community are once again coming together for a special fundraiser Grow a Mo for Joe in memory of Joe and in support of Milford Hospice, the charity chosen by the Harrington family.
We’re asking everyone in the club and beyond to Grow a Mo for Joe this November, donate what you can, and help us support the incredible work Milford Hospice does for families like the Harringtons. Make your donation and spread the word via our I donate page together, we can make a difference in Joe’s memory.
