Patrickswell GAA Club Notes:
Camogie:
Patrickswell’s Intermediate Camogie team produced a masterful performance to win the Championship final against Templeglantine. Sarah Fitzgerald scored a goal within thirty seconds, but Templeglantine levelled with three consecutive points. Another Sarah Fitzgerald point had Patrickswell level at 1-1 to 0-4 after fifteen minutes. The key phase of the match was a devastating seven-minute spell from Patrickswell that yielded a goal and five points without reply (Sophie Carey 1-0, Roisin O’Brien 0-3, Ciara Barry and Sarah Fitzgerald). Patrickswell were now 2-6 to 0-4 ahead. Before half-time, three more points were added by Rachel O’Grady and Roisin O’Brien 0-2 to secure a nine-point interval lead of 2-9 to 0-6.
The second half was a perfect case of keeping Templeglantine at arm’s length. By the 45th minute mark, Patrickswell were still seven points ahead at 2-13 to 0-12 (Sarah Fitzgerald and Ciara Barry 0-3). The nerves were eliminated when three points from Sarah Fitzgerald, Roisin O’Brien and Ciara Barry gave the ‘Well an unassailable nine-point lead of 2-16 to 0-13 on 56 minutes. The icing on the cake was captain Sarah Carey’s point to ensure a 2-17 to 0-13 victory.

Dean Cawley and Jack Gorman stopped the rot, but we trailed by 2-8 to 0-4 at the break.
The first fifteen minutes of the second half remained difficult as Ballybrown stretched their lead to 4-11 to 0-6 (Briain Og O’Sullivan and Tadhg Hannon).
