Club Fixtures:
Woodlands House Hotel County Premier Junior A Football Championship- Group 1-Round 5
Venue: Newcastle West. Date/time: Sunday October 12th 2025 at 3:30pm
Athea v Monagea
On Sunday we meet Monagea in a must win game and we need other results to go our way. Qualifying for the knockout stage is still possible but we will need to up our game on Sunday in Newcastle West to achieve this.
Needless to say that having good support on the day to get behind the team makes a big difference particularly in a tight game.
Best of luck to the Team and Management in this very important match.
Woodlands House Hotel County Junior C Football Championship- Group 2-Round 5:
Venue: Glin. Date/time: Saturday October 11th 2025. 4pm
Glin v Athea
Our last game in the group stage is this Saturday away to our neighbours Glin who we have met three times this year so far with Glin coming out on top in two, however our victory was in the West League final against them in a memorable match in April.
Again, good support at this match will give the team an added boost to cheer them on. Put the date and time in your diary.
Sympathies:
The club would like to offer our sympathies to the Sheehy and Roche families on the passing of Hannah last week. Although she lived in Dublin for many years she keep a keen interest in Athea and remained in contact with many in the area. She often sent best wishes to the club down through the years.

Ladies Football:
U12 Girls
Huge well done to our u12 girls who played their last blitz of the season in Monagea last Sunday. They played three great games V old Mill, Monagea and Feogh / Castlemahon. Special mention to the u10’s girls who played up on the day.
Intermediate Championship:
Hard luck to our Ladies adult team who lost the relegation final V’s Adare by a solitary point. This was a great game where both teams but everything on the line to keep their intermediate status. Unfortunately, we were never able to claw back the half time deficit and Athea will now play in the 2026 Junior Championship.
