Club Lotto Draw:
Blackrock GAA Club Lotto Draw was held on Thursday night last August 21st.
The numbers drawn were 4, 12, 15 and 26. The Jackpot was not won.
As promised without a winner of the jackpot we gave away the entire €13,000 across14 lucky dips. Congratulations to them all. The €13,000 is finally gone and so we are back to a very decent €7,000 jackpot next week and it will once again be added to every week it is not won.

Under 16 Hurlers continue their fine good Championship:
On Monday evening last in Knocklong, Blackrock completed their 5 round robin games in Mr Binman County Under 16 Hurling Championship division 3A when they had a victory on a score line Blackrock 2.23 Garryspillane 1.12. At the interval there was only a point between the sides Blackrock 0.09 Garryspillane 0.08 after a well contested opening half, which saw the home fight back from being five points in arrears to leave the minimum between the sides. Junior Hurlers lose out in Championship to Staker Wallace:
On Wednesday evening last August 20th. the Michael Fox Memorial Park was the venue for the meeting of Blackrock and neighbours Staker Wallace in the South Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship Group 2 Round 3 game, which saw the visitors prove best to win by 3.17 to 1.15. The visitors were the early pacesetters and were leading by 1.03 before Niall Ryan opened the Blackrock scoring with a point, Both sides exchanged a brace of points, James Philpot and Sean Murphy the Blackrock scorers, Staker Wallace 1.05 Blackrock 0.3. From here on to interval, both sides enjoyed a spell of dominance, from which Staker Wallace scored 0.06, two frees, while Blackrock added 0.05, two frees), James O’Doherty (0.03 2f) Niall Ryan (0.01.) and Shaun Murphy (0.01) the scorers to leave the score board reading Staker Wallace 1.11 Blackrock 0.08 at the interval.
On the resumption of play 3.04 was scored in the opening ten minutes, Staker Wallace 2.04 while Blackrock had their only goal from Adrian Beqiri, before the home side had a mini revival scoring five unanswered points, from Shaun Murphy (0.01),James O’Doherty (0.05 3f & 65) to reduce the deficit to 6 points, Staker Wallace scored two late points, one from a free, while James O’Doherty added a point for Blackrock but it was too little too late as the score board read Staker Wallace 3.15 Blackrock 1.15 giving the visitors a well deserved win.

Defeat in Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship:
On Saturday evening last in Kilmallock, our Premier Intermediate hurlers lost out to Garryspillane in Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Round 4 game, on a score line of 4.15 to 0.12
The opening half was very well contested, Garryspillane, aided the breeze, got off to a perfect start with a well taken goal, followed by a point, before Blackrock opened their scoring with points from Colm O’Keeffe, Jimmy Quilty and Killian Ahern, both sides exchanged points, Jimmy Quilty free and Callan Ensor Blackrock, to leave Garryspillane ahead 1.04 to 0.05 after 15 minutes of play. Both sides added five points each before the intrerval Sean O’Neill, Colm O’Keeffe (3, 1free) and Paudie Leahy the Rockies scorers to leave the score board reading Garryspillane 1.09. Blackrock 0.10 at the interval.
On the resumption of play, Garryspillanne registered a point followed by a goal to increase their lead to six points, which was added to by a further point, before Blackrock scored points from free’s from Colm O’Keefe and Jimmy Quilty. Garryspillane restored a six midway in the second half. The next ten minutes remained scoreless with both sides being wide of the target on numerous occasions, but it was the Bouncers that finished the stronger adding 2.03 in the closing five minutes, to secure well deserved win, in a game where the Rockies will bemoan the fact that they recorded 17 wides throughout the game. Well Merited Win for Minor Hurlers in County Championship:
On Sunday last August 24th. Blackrock minor hurlers travelled to Clarina to play Ballybrown in County Minor ‘A’ Hurling championship round 4 (Refixture) Coming into the game both sides were still in contention for a place in the knock out stages of the championship, in a very well contested game where the visitors led at the interval by 0.07 to 0.05, they added another 1.08 in the second half while Ballybrown added 1.05 giving Blackrock a well-deserved and merited victory Blackrock 1.15 Ballybrown 1.10, to remain in contention to reach the knockout stages of the championship. On this Wednesday eveningCroom/Ballybricken/Bohermore will play Blackrock in the Michael Fox Memorial Park at 6.30pm.
