Quid Games Fundraisier:
Pallasgreen GAA Launches ExcitingFundraiser: “QUID GAME” which is set to Entertain and Inspire. Pallasgreen GAA Club, in conjunction with its associated groups, officially launched its major fundraising initiative last Saturday night in Powers Bar and what a launch it was. With a lively and enthusiastic crowd in attendance, the event set the tone for what promises to be a fun-filled and engaging community effort.
The fundraiser, cleverly titled QUID GAME, is a series of skills-based challenges designed to test contestants’ patience, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. The games follow an elimination-style format, with one simple goal: be the last person standing to claim a cash prize not just for yourself, but also for a charity of your choice. The night was full of energy and excitement, with organisers sharing teasers of the challenges to come and encouraging the community to rally behind the event. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with anticipation already building for the main event. QUID GAME will culminate in a grand finale on Sunday, October 26th, over the Bank Holiday weekend, in the Ballykisteen Hotel. The event will feature contestants from across the Pallasgreen community each bringing their own unique strengths to the competition as well as a special guest contestant sure to draw interest. In the lead-up to the finale, a series of events and mini-challenges will take place, and organisers are encouraging everyone to stay tuned and show their support throughout. All proceeds from QUID GAME will go directly toward the club’s extensive field development project, including the construction of a new stand and walkway, first announced earlier this year. It’s a vital step in improving facilities for players and supporters alike, and this fundraiser will play a key role in making that vision a reality. Refreshments will be served on the night, and everyone is welcome. So mark the date, get involved, and above all let the games begin! More details coming soon. Keep an eye on Pallasgreen GAA’s social channels and local notices.
Co Inter Hurling Championship:
It was a game that looked out of reach for Pallas with just ten minutes to play five points down and reduced to 14 men yet somehow, through sheer resilience and belief, they clawed their way back to snatch a dramatic share of the spoils in a tense affair against St Kieran’s in Adare on Saturday afternoon.
The match itself wasn’t a classic in terms of hurling spectacle, but it was packed with grit, determination, and tension from the first whistle to the last. St Kieran’s held a narrow 0-9 to 0-7 lead at the interval, having made slightly better use of their chances in a first half where both sides struggled to find rhythm. Ten minutes into the second half, Pallas suffered a significant blow when they were reduced to 14 men after a second yellow card, leaving them with a mountain to climb in what was already a tightly contested battle.
But that setback seemed to galvanise Pallas rather than deter them. With their championship hopes hanging in the balance, they responded with spirit and intensity. The turning point came when Colin Ryan rifled home a penalty, offering a lifeline and igniting belief within the side. Now playing the better hurling despite their numerical disadvantage, Pallas dominated the final stages. With Colm McMahon unerring from placed balls, finishing with an impressive tally of 0-11, and Colin Ryan adding 1-3, Pallas battled back to level matters as the clock ticked into injury time, The draw Pallas 1-16, St Kieran’s 0-19 could prove hugely significant in the broader context of the competition, as it keeps Pallas’s championship hopes alive.
