Patrickswell GAA Club Notes:

The Senior hurlers meet neighbours Ballybrown in the third match of the Championship on Saturday August 23 at 6.30pm in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale.

The Junior A hurlers face Kildimo-Pallaskenry on Thursday August 21 at 6.30pm in Clarina.

Patrickswell entertain Monagea on Sunday August 24 at 6pm in Patrickswell

Our footballers earned a valuable win after an entertaining tussle with hosts Ballinacurra Gaels. Peter Harty scored an early point before the home team responded with a two-pointer and a goal. However Patrickswell dominated the next fifteen minutes to produce a goal from Josh Carey and four points from Francis McAuliffe, Briain Og O’Sullivan 0-2 and Peter Harty. We now led by 1-5 to 1-2. Ballinacurra Gaels equalised with three consecutive points, however Josh Carey popped up before half-time with his second goal and establish a 2-5 to 1-5 lead.

The second half commenced with a Briain Og O’Sullivan point and Josh Carey’s hat trick goal. While the hosts scored three points, Patrickswell were still 3-6 to 1-8 ahead on the 45th minute. Gavin Carey’s goal seemed to end the contest yet Ballinacurra Gaels’ second goal trimmed the deficit to four points at 4-6 to 2-8. With some excellent game management, Briain Og O’Sullivan hit a trio of points to secure a 4-9 to 2-9 triumph.

The club lotto draw on Monday August 11 was not won. The numbers drawn were 3, 5, 6 and 30. The bonus number was 7. The €50 lucky dips were won by Susanne & Thomas Denmead and Nigel Foley, while the €20 prizes were claimed by Marian Maher, Conor & Jack Higgins, Collette Smith, Eadaoin Kearney, Joanne Casey and Mary O’Shaughnessy. This week’s jackpot is €20,000.
