It was a busy week with matches for our young hurlers. Our U12’s travelled to Raheenagh to play Tour/Kileedy and gave an outstanding performance all over the field it was certainly the performance of the year so far. Our U10’s played a blitz in Athea Friday evening there was a great improvement in these young players. Saturday morning it was the turn of our U8’s who had their first match of the year and what a performance.
Thanks to all the parents for bringing the players to the matches and special thanks to all the coaches. It is great to see the improvement in all our age groups and that we are able to field teams in these ages.

U11 Football Go-Games:
Our u11 Football team played Shannon Gaels on Tuesday last on a glorious evening. We struggled in the first half to match a very good Shannon Gaels team however after some words of advice from coaches Martin Chawke and Johnny Mulvihill at halftime a different Athea team emerged for the second half playing some excellent football with heroic defending, brilliant team works and fantastic scores. These are a great bunch of boys and are improving with every game and training session.
Our u12s are playing Feohanagh Castlemahon away this Wednesday evening May 21st at 6:30pm.
Our under 8’s had their first blitz of the year, Saturday in Athea pitch. ABK and Glantine joined us for what was a very enjoyable morning. Great turn out and great to see the skills and teamwork displayed by our players.
