Limerick Minor Camogie:
Hard luck to Jayne Casey and the Limerick Minor squad who lost to a strong Kilkenny on Saturday in the All Ireland Semi Final in Templeglantine. It has been a fantastic season for this squad and we know we will see plenty more from them in the future.

On Friday 18 April 2025 the Limerick minor hurling team defeated Tipperary 2-13 to 0-18 in Thurles in the 2025 Electric Ireland Munster GAA Hurling Minor Championship Round 3 game. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls Killian Begley who was instrumental to the win scoring a goal and the winning point. Mungret St. Pauls also have Oisin Donnelly on the extended panel.
Limerick Celtic Challenge Hurling team played Clare in the Crescent Comprehensive on Saturday 19 April 2025 where they secured a two point win 1-13 to 1-11. Mungret St Paul’s are delighted to have players Rory Gleeson and Rory O’Callaghan who captains the team on the panel with Conor O’Brien as the goalie coach.
At half time of the Limerick V Tipperary hurling match on Sunday 20 April 2025, two Mungret St. Pauls players took to the pitch in Thurles in the half time Cumann na mBunscol game. Well done to Conor Slavin and Bob Nix.
TLC Clean Up:
Thanks to everybody who came out on Good Friday morning, 18 April 2025, to support the Team Limerick Cleanup. Weather was not ideal but great volunteers from the club and community collected many bags of rubbish. Thanks to all who organised this and looked after the refreshments afterwards.
Feile na nGael Camogie:
Congratulations to the Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Mungret U15 girls who last Saturday won 4 from 4 games v Bruff, Granagh Ballingarry, Monaleen and Killeedy to secure a place in the Feile A division Final!!!!

Junior A Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-17 St. Patricks 2-13
Mungret St. Pauls edged a thrilling Junior A Hurling League encounter against St. Patricks by the narrowest of margins on Tuesday evening, 15 April 2025 in Mungret, holding on for a 1-17 to 2-13 victory.
The home side opened the game in dramatic fashion, responding to an early two-point lead from St. Patricks with a well-timed goal, setting the tone for a fiercely contested first half. Both sides exchanged scores throughout the remainder of the half, with Mungret St. Pauls just shading it at the break, 1-8 to 0-9.
The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls gradually extend their lead with some sharp shooting from play and placed balls. However, just as it seemed they might pull away, St. Patricks roared back into contention with two goals in quick succession—finding the net twice in the space of a minute. Mungret St. Pauls managed to squeeze in a crucial point between the two green flags, which ultimately proved decisive. Despite a late push from the visitors, Mungret St. Pauls held their nerve to see out the win by a single point in what was a nail-biting finish.
This result keeps Mungret St. Pauls in strong form as the league campaign progresses, with only 3 games played out of six, Mungret St. Pauls are sitting in fifth place with the next match against Patrickswell on Tuesday 22 April 2025.
U-17 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 2-10 Kilmallock 3-10
Kilmallock held off a late surge from Mungret St. Pauls to claim a narrow three-point victory in a gripping U-17 Hurling League encounter on Wednesday evening 16 April 2025.
The home side made the most of the first-half conditions, finding the net twice and building a solid lead at the break. Despite Mungret St. Pauls two goals keeping them in touch, Kilmallock’s sharper shooting saw them take a 2-8 to 2-3 advantage into half time.
Mungret St. Pauls came out rejuvenated after the restart, aided by a strong breeze at their backs. They steadily chipped away at the deficit, tightening up at the back and adding crucial points to close the gap. Kilmallock, however, struck for a vital third goal that ultimately proved the difference.
In the dying moments, Mungret St. Pauls pressed hard for an equaliser. With the last puck of the game, they created a clear-cut chance, but the Kilmallock goalkeeper pulled off a superb save to deny them a dramatic draw. This loss sees Mungret St. Pauls out of the U-17 hurling league, but most of the players have U-17 Football match next against Oola.

The visitors’ ability to find the net proved the difference, as they raised five green flags over the hour, each coming at crucial moments to halt Mungret St. Pauls momentum. While Mungret St. Pauls matched Knockane in terms of point scoring, finishing with an impressive 2-12, they simply couldn’t contain the Knockane forwards.
Mungret St. Pauls started brightly, working some fine scores from distance and battling hard through the middle of the park. However, Knockane struck for their first goal, followed with a second, swinging the tide in their favour. By half time, they had carved out a comfortable lead.
The home side showed great heart in the second half, responding with scores and narrowing the margin to just a few points at one stage. But Knockane’s forwards remained clinical, putting the result beyond doubt. It was a spirited effort from Mungret St. Paul’s, who never dropped their heads and kept fighting until the final whistle. However, Knockane’s firepower proved too much on the night.
This loss unfortunately leaves Mungret St. Pauls at the bottom of the table with one last match to play next week.
Senior Hurling:

Na Piarsaigh delivered a dominant performance on Thursday evening, 17 April 2025 to secure a comprehensive victory over Mungret St. Pauls in the Senior Hurling League, running out 1-22 to 0-11 winners in Caherdavin.

From the outset, Na Piarsaigh set the tone with high-intensity hurling, sharp movement, and clinical finishing. Their ability to win primary possession and punish from both play and placed balls gave them full control of the contest. Mungret St. Pauls struggled to gain a foothold, finding it difficult to break through a well-organised Na Piarsaigh defence.
Na Piarsaighs only goal of the game, a well-taken finish that helped stretch their lead and deflate any Mungret St. Pauls momentum. By the break, Na Piarsaigh had built a solid cushion and showed no signs of letting up.
Mungret St. Paul’s battled gamely in the second half and tagged on some fine points, but the gap proved too great. It was a tough evening for Mungret St. Pauls, who will look to regroup quickly for the next round of fixtures.
U-13 Hurling:

It was a closely contested affair from the throw-in, with both sides showing great skill and determination. It was a closely contested affair from the throw-in, with both sides showing great skill and determination. Mungret St. Paul’s opened brightly, moving the ball well and taking some well-earned scores, including a fine goal that gave them early momentum.
However, ABK Desmonds responded in kind, making the most of their opportunities in front of goal. Two quick-fire goals in the opening half helped swing the balance their way, giving them a slight edge at the break. The second half saw Mungret push hard to close the gap, and they were rewarded with a second goal and a pair of points to draw within striking distance. But ABK Desmonds held their composure and added a crucial third goal in the final quarter to keep Mungret St. Pauls at bay.
Despite a late surge from the home side, which included a few near misses and some excellent defending from ABK Desmonds, the visitors held out for a four-point win.
It was an encouraging performance from a young Mungret St. Pauls team, who showed plenty of fight and flashes of quality throughout.
U-15 Feile nan Gael Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls battled hard across three intense group games in the Feile na nGael tournament but narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot after a day of high drama, fine scores, and top-quality hurling in Na Piarsaigh on Saturday 19 April 2025.
Game 1: Mungret St. Pauls 2-3 Monaleen 1-10
Mungret St. Pauls started the day strongly against a well-drilled Monaleen side. Two well-taken first-half goals gave Mungret St. Pauls a narrow lead at the break, 2-3 to 1-5, with their sharp finishing on full display.
However, Monaleen took control in the second half, tightening up defensively and picking off their points with clinical accuracy. Mungret St. Pauls were unable to add to their tally after the interval, while Monaleen kept the scoreboard ticking over to claim a four-point win in a hard-fought opener.
Game 2: Mungret St. Pauls 2-5 Doon 0-5
Game two saw a strong response from Mungret St. Pauls, who bounced back brilliantly against Doon. With a goal and two points on the board by halftime, they held a slender lead, 1-2 to 0-3.
Their intensity didn’t drop after the break, and they added a second goal along with some fine point-taking to secure a deserved victory. Defensively, Mungret stood tall, restricting Doon to just two points in the second half, sealing a six-point win that kept their qualification hopes alive.
Game 3: Mungret St. Pauls 2-1 Na Piarsaigh 3-9
In their final group game, Mungret St. Pauls faced a powerful Na Piarsaigh side. The hosts made a strong start and led 1-4 to 1-0 at halftime, using their pace and precision to pull ahead.
Mungret St. Pauls continued to fight gamely in the second half, adding another goal and a point, but Na Piarsaigh’s firepower proved decisive. They struck for two more goals and several well-taken points to run out comfortable winners, sealing their place in Monday’s semi-finals.
Despite a strong win over Doon and competitive spells in both other games, Mungret St. Paul’s finish outside the qualification spots. Monaleen and Na Piarsaigh progressed to the semi-finals. Mungret St. Pauls can take plenty of positives from their performances, showing great teamwork, resilience, and scoring threat throughout the group stages in what was a very competitive group.

While we didn’t progress to the semi-finals this time, the experience gained, friendships strengthened, and pride in wearing the red and white will last long beyond the final whistle.
