There has been no winner of the jackpot in the Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club weekly lottery since Ross and James Tierney, Ahalin, Ballingarry, promoter O’Grady’s Spar Shop, Ballingarry won €3,000 on Saturday 12th August 2023 in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry. The numbers drawn on Saturday 29th March in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry were 2, 25, 29 and 30. The €9,400 jackpot was not won. Lucky dips of €20 went to Peter Dunworth, promoter online, Sean Crosby, Margaret kelly and Eilish Noonan. The next draw for a jackpot of €9,500 will be held on Saturday 5th April in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters. Munster Senior Scór Finals 2025:
All the best in Irish culture emerged at the Munster Senior Scór Finals at Cappamore Community Centre on Saturday. A full house added to the glory and excitement and at the end of a rousing over a five hour programme of cultural entertainment teams from Cork with three titles, Limerick with two and Tipperary, Kerry and Waterford with one dominate the destination of the provincial honours. Johnny O’Riordan and Christine Connell represented Granagh Ballingarry and Limerick very well in the instrumental music competition, but it was Toomevara of Tipperary who took the honours in a very close contest. Thank you to both Johnny and Christine who represented their club and county with pride on the day and all the supporters who travelled to Askeaton and Cappamore for both the County and Munster Finals.

Granagh Ballingarry nominated dog “Left Corner Back” failed to finish in the top three of heat 8 on Saturday night in Round 2 of the annual Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake, sponsored by JP and Noreen McManus at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night. So unfortunately, will not be in for this Saturday night’s quarter finals.
Limerick claim fourth division 4 league title with trilling 2point win:

Hearty congratulations to manager Jimmy Lee, Newcastle West and all involved with the Limerick Senior footballers on their thrilling two point 3-11 to 0-18 victory over gallant Wexford to claim their first National Football League Division 4 title, a first since 2020 at Croke Park on Saturday. Goals by Darragh O’Siochra in the opening half and Peter Nash and Tommy Childs in the second half paved the way for this thrilling two point victory for the Treaty Boys to secure the Division 4 National Football League title and gave them a great boost in advance of their Munster Senior Football Championship Quarter Final clash with Cork on this Saturday 5th April in Pairc na nGael at 6pm.

Well done to manager Evan Loftus and all involved with the Limerick u20 hurlers who made a winning start to the round robin phase of the Munster U20 Hurling Championship with an impressive two point 2-13 to 0-17 victory over gallant Tipperary in front of an official of 2,768 at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Tuesday 25th March. The Treaty boys are now looking forward to the next round with confidence where they will face another stiff task against Waterford on Wednesday 9th April in Fraher Field, Dungarvan at 7pm.
Impressive Cork off to a winning Start:

Hard luck on our own Donal O’Grady manager and the gallant Limerick Minor hurlers who suffered a ten point 2-25 to 0-21 defeat to an excellent Cork side in the opening round of the Munster Minor Hurling Championship at Pairc na nGael. On Friday evening the Treaty boys who created a number of goal scoring chances over the course of the 60 minutes which they failed to convert cost them at the finish and will now have to regroup ahead of their next outing where they will face another stiff test against Waterford opening round two point 1-16 to 0-17 winners over Tipperary on this Friday night 4th April in Fraher Field, Dungarvan at 7.30pm. West Senior Hurling League Championship Round 2:
Ballingarry is the venue this Saturday 5th April at 5pm for the meeting of Granagh Ballingarry and Adare in Round 2 of the West Senior Hurling league/championship. In the opening series of games on Saturday 22nd March Granagh Ballingarry recorded an impressive 1-21 to 0-8 victory over Feenagh Kilmeedy and the Adare boys gave a walkover to neighbours Croagh Kilfinny. So your support would be appreciated in Ballingarry on this Saturday at 5pm to cheer on the boys in black and green as they aim for back to back wins in the West Senior Hurling league/championship.

10th Team Limerick Clean Up:
The 10th edition of the longest one day clean up in Ireland, Team Limerick Clean Up (TLC) is set to take place on Good Friday 18th April across Limerick City and County. Founders of the Team Limerick Clean Up initiative JP McManus, Paul O’Connell and Helen O’Connell are urging volunteers to sign up early at www.teamlimerick/cleanup.ieand help make this the best TLC yet. This year’s participants in TLC10 are encouraged to bring a friend and involved any new neighbours in the community to come along and join in making Limerick a cleaner and more environmentally friendly county. The popular tea and coffee gathering after the clean up will also be held in locations throughout the city and county. Last year TLC marked the largest participation from all walks of life with people from schools/colleges/GAA clubs/Munster Rugby to business charities and nursing homes.
