Club AGM:
The curtain came down on a successful and eventful 2024 season for the club, marked by the Annual General Meeting held last Sunday afternoon at the community centre. The event saw a fine turnout, reflecting the strong community spirit and support for the club. Secretary Mick Lawton delivered a detailed report, outlining the breadth of activities undertaken by the club during the year. He extended heartfelt gratitude to all players and management teams for their dedication and preparation throughout the season. Special thanks were directed to the Juvenile Club for their tireless efforts in coaching and match-day organization, ensuring the club’s future remains bright with emerging talent.
Mick also celebrated the achievements of players who represented the club in various capacities, including county and school teams. He highlighted the historic success of the Limerick Senior Hurlers, who secured an incredible six-in-a-row Munster Senior Hurling Championships. Special mention was made of clubman John Gammell, who was honoured with an East Limerick Gaels Award, bringing pride to the entire club. The Secretary commended the significant upgrades to the club’s facilities, including enhancements to the gym, Ball Wall, and restroom facilities, all of which contribute to an improved experience for players and members. The contributions of those involved in organizing the Golf Classic, managing the lotto, and participating in the Limerick Draw were also praised, as these efforts are essential to sustaining the club’s operations. He expressed sincere appreciation to the club’s main sponsor, Lee’s Centra, along with other sponsors who generously supported the club. Their contributions are vital in enabling the club to thrive both on and off the pitch. In conclusion. Finally he extended condolences to all families in the community who experienced bereavements over the past year. The meeting was a fitting reflection on a year of progress, achievement, and community spirit, setting the stage for an even brighter future for the club in 2025. Treasurer Alan O’Dwyer presented a robust financial report, showcasing a healthy balance sheet. His presentation highlighted the significant costs involved in running a club, underscoring the importance of the community’s
continued support and fundraising efforts. Chairman Jimmy McMahon delivered a heartfelt address, reflecting on the achievements of the past year and expressing gratitude to those who contributed to the club’s success. He began by thanking his fellow officers for their unwavering support and collaboration throughout the year. He extended his gratitude to all individuals who contributed to the club in any capacity, emphasizing that the collective effort of the community is the foundation of the club’s continued growth.
