Last week was another busy one at The Michael Fox Memorial Park, on Thursday last October 17th. the pitch got a much needed sanding from Nick Grene Sportsgrounds Maintenance, meanwhile great progress is being made on the fencing and walking track.

Blackrock GAA Club Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday November 27th 2024 at 7.30pm. venue tbc. Nomination/Motion Forms will be sent out at the start of November.

The Calendar have the Photographs of the 12 Limerick Teams that have won All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship titles

Of local interest Kilfinane Emmets who won Limerick’s first All Ireland title 1897 are included while Limerick won the 1934 and 1936 Hurling Finals local hurler Tommy McCarthy was full back on the team and in 2018 when Limerick defeated Galway in the Final to bridge a 45 gap, Richie McCarthy figured in the victory.

The church displayed on the Limerick GAA crest, is a depiction of St. Andrew’s Church Kilfinane. This is in honour of the Kilfinane Emmets team of 1897, who were Limerick’s first ever All Ireland senior hurling champions, after they defeated Kilkenny’s Tullaroan in Tipperary Town on November 20th, 1898.

There will be a clean up of the tractor shed on this Saturday morning October 26th. at 11:30   if people are around to help. This is to facilitate a temporary gym that will be of great use to the club should only take an hour or two to do.
