U14 Hurlers lose out in County Final:
On Saturday last October 12th. Blackrock U14 hurlers played Belville Gaels in the Mr. Binman County U14 hurling division 3 championship final in Mick Neville Park. Blackrock were the early pacesetters winning plenty possession and had two shots at goal cleared, their opening score from a well taken free from outfield from Adam Kelly, points from a free and play gave Belville Gaels the lead. Jack Roche with a Blackrock point from play had the sides level. A Bellville Gaels goal gave them the lead that they would not relinquish, a pointed free from Jack Roche reduced the deficit to the minimum with a pointed free and from play, both sides exchanged points, the Blackrock one from a Jack Roche free. Belville Gaels scored their second goal just before the interval to lead at the break by 2.03 to 0.05. The second half saw Belville Gaels on top adding six points, while Blackrock replied with three pointed frees from Jack Roche,  with victory going to Belville Gaels by victory 2.09 to 0.08.  Team Management: Anton Roche, Ben Murphy and Roger Gleeson along with the players deserve great credit for their displays throughout the year to win their group undefeated in their seven outings and a Semi Final win to qualify for the County Final, where they met a much stronger Belville Gaels side (a combination of Feohanagh/Castlemahon and Feenagh/Kilmeedy) and gave of their best. Thanks also to the supporters who turned out to support the team in the Championship campaign throughout the year
