Pallasgreen GAA Club Notes:

Ladies in County Football Final:
This Sunday afternoon, all roads lead to Cappamore as Pallas Ladies prepare to face Monaleen in a thrilling quest for County Junior A football glory. This remarkable team, a blend of resilience and talent, is on the cusp of achieving something extraordinary, securing successive county titles after their triumph in the Junior B last year. The journey to this year’s final has been nothing short of a roller coaster, filled with highs and lows. Each match has been a testament to their character and determination. Despite facing challenges and setbacks along the way, these young ladies have continually demonstrated their fighting spirit, particularly in their quarter-final and semi-final bouts. In moments when the odds seemed against them, they dug deep and emerged victorious, showcasing not just skill but a massive belief in themselves and each other. A special nod must go to the management team and club officers whose preparation, support, and guidance have been pivotal throughout this campaign. Their dedication has laid a strong foundation for the team’s success. As we look ahead to the final, let’s get behind these girls. Your support can make all the difference, throw in  at Cappamore this Sunday at 12 noon. Best wishes to all involved.

A big thank you to everyone who supported Malachy McKenna’s fundraiser for India in June. A total of €4135 was raised. The club would like to express its best wishes and compliments to Malachy on this extraordinary and wonderful imitative.  He will be in India for the next two weeks helping the people of Kolkata. All money raised goes to helping the poor and sick. Your generosity and kindness is very much appreciated.

Walk for Tony:
This Sunday October 20th at 3pm, there is a walk starting and finishing In Nicker. Motor Neurone Disease is a cruel and progressive condition that affects the brain and nerves, slowly taking away the ability to move, speak and even breathe. We all know Tony Ryan (affectionately known as Schillaci) and former club player is currently suffering from this dreadful disease. This walk this Sunday is to help in raising awareness and funds for MNDA. They provide crucial support for families, and fund vital research that brings hope that one day it can be cured. Every donation, no matter the size can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by this illness. About 1 in 5 in Ireland now know someone affected with MND. So please consider donating and joining Tony and his family for the walk this Sunday and show your support. All support would greatly appreciated.
