Results:
Premier Junior A Football – Round 2 – KD 3.10 – 1.04 Monagea in Ballybrown GAA, Wed. 5th July.
A great win to continue our strong start to the season. A strong first half had us 2.6 to 1.2 with the only blip being the concession of a converted penalty against the run of play. Facing a strong breeze in the 2nd half, we knew the importance of minding the ball. Our clever use of the kick pass allowed us work up the field where our forwards showed they brought their shooting boots. Further great impact from the bench saw us power home to a 3.10 to 1.04 win. We now have a 3 week break prior to hurling championship in August.

Club All Ireland Replay:
We are delighted on Friday to host a senior hurling challenge game. In a repeat of the 2001 Club All Ireland Senior Hurling final, Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club of Kilkenny got some revenge over St. Mary’s GAA Club Athenry with a 4 point win played in blustery conditions.
Why in Kilteely Dromkeen?
Well not only have we become well known and regarded for our hospitality and excellent pitch, one Davy O’Neill of Kilteely and now Kilkenny is the Chairman of the GB club. Davy played hurling & football with our club teams with great distinction for many many years.
Not only that, where the cats have benefited from one of our own, Athenry is the home club of Noreen Ahern. We will be extending a very warm KD welcome to both squads.
Thanks to all volunteers for providing food and refreshments to players afterwards and Larry O’Grady for cutting the pitch. Once again im perfect condition.
