KILTEELY-DROMKEEN GAA CLUB NOTES
Limerick Senior Hurling:
Congrats to the Limerick Hurlers, management and backroom team on an excellent win today and collect some early season silverware. Well done to Brian O’Grady on a fine performance and with 2 points from play to boot. That makes it 3 wins from 3 for him after UL’s big victory midweek.
Well done also to Denny Ahern and Eibhear O’Dea on the Limerick backroom team.
Limerick Minor Football 2022:
Huge congratulations to Evan McCarthy on being selected on the 2022 Limerick Minor Football panel. This follows years of massive commitment with the Limerick Football Academy and is a fantastic achievement.
Fitzgibbon Cup Hurling:
The UL hurlers featuring our own Brian O’Grady at midfield had a comprehensive win over TUS Midwest last Wednesday night in UL. Best of luck for the rest of the competition.
Spring Clean with Kilteely Dromkeen GAA:
The club will be holding a Scrap Metal Collection on the weekend of February 18th-20th. Skips will be left in the GAA Field Carpark and assistance can be provided for large pieces. Scrap steel, farm machinery, gates, bicycles, lawnmowers, copper & aluminium are some of the items accepted. For a full list see our Facebook page for details. Thank you for your support.
Ashling Murphy Vigil:
Thanks to all who came to help out and pay their respects for Ashling Murphy last Wednesday night in the GAA field at the candle-lit vigil. May she rest in peace.
Ireland Light Up / Every Step Counts
Well done on all who have been getting their year off to a healthy start by counting their steps as part of the Every Step Counts challenge by MyLife by Irish Life. Great work has been put in by the field committee to expand the walking area of our grounds and every Wednesday, 7pm – 8pm we will have our floodlights on to facilitate the Ireland Lights Up initiative.
We are going well in the Every Step Counts challenge with almost 50 participants. The target is for a club and its members to walk 4,000 Kms (the distance around Ireland). All successful clubs will be entered in a draw for O’Neils prize vouchers. The challenge lasts for 5 weeks from Wednesday 12th January to 16th February. The kms can be tracked anywhere e.g. fitbit, strava. Please download the ‘My Life by Irish Life’ App and select Kilteely Dromkeen GAA club to enter your distances.
This is the first of many exciting initiatives we hope to roll out as part of our Healthy Club project. So please do sign up on the app and get involved.
