Saturday next 4th December will be one of the biggest days in our club calendar for a number of years. Only 3 weeks to the day to Christmas Day, we as current Limerick Senior Football Champions welcome The Nire – Fourmilewater Waterford Co. Senior Football Champions to our humble abode at Pairc na nGael, Newcastle West. This is a road we have travelled before, not on too many occasions though, in recent years 2015 and 2019, however the big difference this time around, is we are at home. The last time as a club we were at home was back in 1992, many moons ago which saw a huge crowd coming to town to support The Magpies. Our Co. Final was played back on 29th October quite a few weeks back while The Nire – Fourmilewater won their County Final just over 10 days ago, however we are not in this competition to make up the numbers, we are confident our boys will give of their all and leave it all on the pitch. Jimmy, Declan, Joe, Stephen and the backroom team will have the boys geared up for this game in front of what we hope will be a huge home crowd.
This coming Saturday will be a huge day for the town and parish of Newcastle West, as not only are we representing Limerick in the first round of the Munster Senior Championship, we are also launching our Monster Christmas Raffle with 1st prize being an overnight stay at Jury’s Croke Park Hotel for 2 including a pair tickets for All Ireland Hurling Final, (maybe you will get to see Jamie Barron on another pitch other than Pairc nan Gael Newcastle West) together with our latest fundraiser for the club house refurbishment Split the Pot. Tickets & Envelopes will be on sale at the game this Saturday. The Christmas lights are being officially turned on at 5 pm Saturday evening and we would urge you all to make Newcastle West the place to be this Saturday 4th December.
Wishing all the players and management team the very best of luck this Saturday. All support for our boys will be much appreciated Bá Mhór Agam
