On Sunday 2nd September 1973, Limerick won their 7th All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Title on a very wet day in Croke Park when they defeated Kilkenny by 1.21 to 1.14 to bridge a 33 year wait for the return of The Liam MacCarthy Cup to Shannonside.
