Last week saw many games in the Divisional and County Championships in both Hurling and Football, at Divisional level, the Junior ‘B’ Hurling championship has progressed to the Quarter final stage, with two games down for decision on this Saturday evening, when Bruree will play Glenroe in Kilfinane and Hospital/Herbertstown play Camogue Rovers in Kilbreedy, both games at 5.45pm with the winners going into the Semi Finals where Blackrock and Bruff have already by virtue of winning their respective groups. While in the Junior ‘B’ Football championship, there are two Round 4 games on this Tuesday evening at the foot of the Galtees when Galbally host Camogue Rovers and Galtee Gaels host both games at 6.30pm
In the County Championships there was plenty activity, on Wednesday evening last 16th. September, there were four teams from the Division in action in the two County Minor ‘A’ Hurling Championship Semi Finals, where Bruff overcame Killacolla Gaels and Cnoc Gaels overcame Blackrock. Bruff and Cnoc Gaels will meet this Wednesday evening in the County Final in Knocklong, also on Wednesday evening, Glenroe defeated Kildimo/Pallaskenry in County Minor, 13 a side Hurling Competition Final.
On Saturday last 19th. September, there were for South teams in County Championship, Ballylanders overcame Monaleein the County Senior Football Championship Quarter Final while Croom had a Quarter Final win over Ballybrown in the County Junior A Football Championship, Castletown Ballyagran lost out to Patrickswell in the County Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship Quarter Final while in the County Premier Football Championship Galbally scored a win over Fr. Caseys, on Monday evening 21st. September Croom scored a Quarter Final win over Ballysteen, while Killacolla Gaels lost out to Dromcollogher/Broadford in the Minor A Football Championship Quarter Final.
This week in another busy one for South teams in County Championship fare, On Wednesday evening, Knocklong is the venue for the County Minor ‘A’ Hurling when Bruff and Cnoc Gaels will clash for title honours. Also on Wednesday in the County Senior Football Championship Quarter Final, Galbally will meet Oola in KIlbreedy.On Saturday after noon next 26th. September both Garryspillane and Staker Wallace are in County Junior A Hurling Relegation Semi Finals, Garryspillane meet Old Christians in Caherelly while Staker Wallace in Clarina both games at 3.00pm
On Sunday next 27th. September, both Irish Wire Products Ltd County Senior Football Championship Semi Finals are down for decision, where Ballylanders will be involved, and Galbally will also hope to their Quarter Final game on Wednesday to also gain a Semi Final place on Sunday (Semi Final pairings to be announced on Wednesday night)
