BALLYBROWN GAA CLUB NOTES
Cul Camp was a huge success once again this year with over 149 children (record numbers) in attendance under the leadership of Peter Nash and his team of young coaches – Colin Coughlan, Emma Kate Quinn, Jade Gillane, Néamh Curtin, Peter Nash, Tony McCarthy, Aaron O Donovan, Aisling Coughlan, Luke O Neill, Tom Houlihan & Aaron O Donovan. It was a great suprise on Wednesday morning to see the Senior & Minor Munster Cup and the League Cup at the Camp along with Colin, Ned and Aidan ( Luke had prior engagement). Then as you can imagine the excitement on Friday when the surprise guest was Senior All Ireland, Munster & League winner Gearoid Heagarty 😱 thank you to Gearoid for his patience, time and kindness to all of the children. A true hero to all our members. And as if it couldn’t get any better the ice-cream van arrived putting a smile on the face of both the kids and coaches. A fantastic 5 days where we were blessed with the weather. A special thanks to Peter Nash and his coaches who were fantastic. There are lots and lots of items left at lost property – call into the club if your missing anything.
Congratulations to the U14 Football team who won the Semi final of U14 Div 3 football vs Caherconlish last Sunday.
Our u9s played in Charleville last Saturday morning. They played against Kilmallock, Newtownshandrum and Erin’s Own and qualified for the Tournament semifinals. They went down to a much more physical Charleville side who then beat Newtownshandrum in the final. Thanks to all the parents who made the journey today and well done to our players who played some fantastic hurling and fought to the very end of that semi final.
Duck Race this year will be held on Sunday 11th August – be sure to keep the day free.
If your teenagers or young adults are hanging out in the Clubhouse during their summer holidays please talk to them about binning their litter. It is not only unsightly but dangerous to players of all ages when training or playing matches. There is bins around the top gate so remind them to please use them.
