CLUB Limerick GAA launches 9th Annual Golf Event
Without doubt this decade has been one of the most successful and enjoyable for all associated with Limerick GAA. Tremendous hurling success at underage level – competing at highest level at minor level, winning two U21 All Ireland’s, followed on by an incredible 2018 running right into this year. The successful sequence is impressive, starting out winning Co Op Superstores Munster League, promotion to Division 1A, winning All Ireland in August and landing the Alliance National Hurling League Title in March.
Participating and performing at highest level brings substantial financial expense. One of the key fund raising initiatives in financially supporting Limerick teams has been the annual CLUB Limerick Golf event. First launched in 2011, the 9th Annual event will take place at Castletroy Golf Club on 23rd & 24th May.
Important to note that funds raised are used to help optimise teams performance, provide specialist medical/ physiotherapy requirements when necessary and other key initiatives required by management such as off site training.
Speaking at the launch of the 2019 Golf event, the CLUB Limerick Chairman Sean Scanlan said that the Annual Golf event has gone from strength to strength over recent years and has become an eagerly looked forward to event leading into the Munster Championship. He thanked all corporate and business supporters and encouraged early contact to book a slot on what is going to be a busy schedule at Castletroy Golf Club on 23rd & 24th May.
Attending the launch were Hurlers Tom Morrissey & Gearoid Hegarty with Team Manager John Kiely and County Board Chairman John Cregan, along with other officers and members of CLUB Limerick Committee.
Speaking at the launch, John Kiely commented that “the fundraising work of the CLUB Limerick committee has become a critical resource in supporting our teams who are operating successfully at the highest level and I would like to extended my thanks for all the financial initiatives, I am looking forward to meeting the golf participants on Friday 24th.”
Board Chairman John Cregan extended words of thanks to Sean Scanlan and the CLUB Limerick Committee for their tremendous fundraising work over the years and wished all every success with the 9th Annual Golf Event
