Limerick Minor Hurling team
Limerick Minor hurling team were beaten by Tipperary in the Munster Minor hurling final last weekend, on a score line of 1-20 to 1-12. Limerick put up a gallant performance as did our own Ben Herlihy who played very well in the full back line, playing in the Munster MHC and Munster final has given all these young players a lot of experience of playing on big occasions and playing in front of large crowds, hopefully this will stand to them in the future, the journey does not end here and Limerick now advance to the round robin All-Ireland MHC series. Next weekend Limerick take on Galway and will also play against the beaten Leinster finalists Kilkenny, with two of the three teams reaching the All-Ireland semi-finals. Best of luck to Ben Herlihy, David Riordan and the entire Limerick Minor hurling squad and management team.

Ballyagran TidyTowns
On Wednesday the 27th of June some of members attended a most informative and enjoyable evening at the Annual Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns awards in Newtownshandrum. We were treated to an insight of some of the trojan work undertaken in the village such as the site of the water pump and stream. The Centenary Apple Orchard at Newtown cross is a fantastic example of a community working together to enhance their own area and improve the bio-diversity of the area. The guided tour to the Vernacular houses gave a flavour of the immense architectural history of the village. Details of the Rural Social Scheme (RSS) can be found on our Facebook page, if anyone is interested in this scheme please leave a message on the Facebook page or contact any member of the TidyTowns group.
