Ballyagran TidyTowns
Our native language lends us the beautiful word “meitheal” which was used to describe the coming together of neighbours to help each other bring in the harvest in a time gone by. The essence of the “meitheal” is being revitalised in our village in Ballyagran. Neighbours are once again gathering to work together but instead of a harvest, we are gathering a sense of belonging and pride in our place. A “meitheal” gathered last Wednesday night and again tackled some more weeding and clean up jobs example around the church and on the entrance to The Hawthorns. We love to get feedback on what you would like to see done in your village, you can post your suggestion on our Facebook page Ballyagran TidyTown or make a suggestion to our members at our Church gate collection 23rd June at 7.30 pm. You support is greatly appreciated.
