Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes

What a game and what an advertisement for the great game of hurling.
It was a pleasure to witness such a performance by a Limerick team in Croke Park and a ground that has proven to be a graveyard fo0r teams of the past.
This group of players seem to ignore all the previous dramas and just hurl away and it is refreshing to see.
Huge credit to all concerned with the team and special mention to our own lads.
Mike Casey at full back was up against a top performer in Patrick Horgan and he did an excellent job on him throughout limiting him to 2 points from play.
Shane Dowling arrived on the field with 15 minutes to go and things were looking ominous then.
Cork lead by 6 points entering ther closing minutes but a never say die attitude from this Limerick team to rattle 7 unanswered points to lead by one.
Credit to Shane who was outstanding in the half hour he was on the field contributing a handsome goal and 5 points to the cause which included a penalty which first he won then scored.
Peter Casey and Will O Donoghue also seeing action and doing very well and also mention for Kevin Downes who was back on the match day squad for the first time in a while and David Dempsey part of ther extended panel.
Well done to all and wish you all the best on the 19th of August
