Monaleen GAA Club Notes

SENIOR HURLING: Our senior hurlers suffered a narrow defeat, 1-15 to 0-17, to Murroe Boher in Group 2 of the county senior hurling championship at Childers Road on Saturday evening last. It was our first loss of the group stages and we now sit in third place in the table, one point off joint leaders South Liberties and Murroe-Boher with just one round of games to go. Monaleen’s final group game will be against Ahane in Cappamore on Sunday, September 23 at 1pm. The top two teams in the group will reach the quarter-finals of the county senior hurling championship. All support greatly appreciated.

SENIOR FOOTBALL: Our final county championship group game is fixed for this Saturday, September 15 v Dromcollogher-Broadford in Kilmallock at 5pm. In an incredibly tight group we’re still in with a chance of qualifying for the quarter-final. All support welcome for this group of players who have had 12 championship debutants so far this year. Best of luck to the players and management team.

JUNIOR A FOOTBALL: We have played 3 games so far with one game left to play against Cappagh on this Friday, September 14 in Rhebogue at 7.30pm. We currently sit top of the table and if we win our last game we qualify for the county quarter-final.
