ALL-IRELAND TICKETS: As the quest for All-Ireland senior hurling final tickets continues, Monaleen GAA club are taking applications for terrace or stand tickets for the big game from club members, in writing only, by Text to Liam De Burca at 085 8467810 or by email to email@example.com Only members whose membership was paid in full by 31st March are eligible for inclusion in the draw. All applications must be made by this Thursday August 9th. Should the club’s ticket allocation exceed demand, a further draw may be held to include members who have paid their membership after the deadline of 31st March.
BUS TO FINAL: It is proposed that a bus travel from Monaleen GAA Club to Dublin for the All-Ireland hurling final should there be sufficient demand. The bus would leave at 7.45am-8am and return promptly after the game. It will cost no more than €20, with payment in advance to secure seat. LOTTO: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €20,000. The draw took place on Thursday, August 2. The numbers drawn were 23, 28, 30 and 31. Winners of €50 lucky dips were J. McCarthy, Fairways; J. Relly, Glanntan; J. Cormican, Oranmore; S. Murphy, Cappamore.
Our jackpot remains at its maximum allowed limit of €20,000 and will remain at this level until some lucky winner carries off the Big prize. Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs and the draw is held every Thursday night in the club at 10pm.

U-16: Well done to the Monaleen U-16 hurlers who defeated Patrickswell 2-17 to 1-9 in the U-16 Division 1 hurling championship in Patrickswell on Monday night. It was Monaleen’s third win in the group stages of the competition.

U-8s: Our U8 hurlers took on Newmarket on Fergus, of Clare, in our Peafield Road pitch in what was yet another epic encounter last weekend. The visitors brought with them a huge squad togging 33 boys and our young superstars battled toe to toe with them start to finish. We played 6 games in total and home advantage stood to us especially in the final round of games. Well done to all the players and coaches alike. After the evening’s entertainment we were treated to some treats from Chawkes Centra on the Dublin Road.
CAMOGIE: Limerick camogie are holding an All-Ireland hurling final Up for the Match preview fundraiser on Monday night next, August 13 in the Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel in Adare. The panel includes Limerick’s Ciaran Carey and Donal O’Grady as well as Davy Fitzgerald, of Clare, Tipperary’s Brendan Maher and former Galway camogie player Aislinn Connolly. Monaleen camogie are represented on the Limerick senior camogie squad by Caoimhe Lyons and Megan O’Mara. For tickets please contact Megan O’Mara on 085 2385352.
