MONALEEN GAA CLUB NOTES
LIMERICK HURLERS: Best of luck to the Monaleen contingent involved in the Limerick senior hurling team which faces Tipperary in the first of the round robin fixtures in the new-look Munster championship at the Gaelic Grounds this Sunday, 2pm. Andrew la Touche Cosgrave and Lorcan Lyons are both members of the Limerick senior hurling squad, while Brian Geary is a selector with the Limerick side and Paul Kinnerk is coach.
LIMERICK FOOTBALLERS: The Limerick senior footballers also begin their Munster championship campaign this weekend when taking on Clare on Saturday evening at the Gaelic Grounds at 7pm in a quarter-final game. Monaleen’s Donal O’Sullivan is Limerick captain this year, while Shane Cusack is also a member of the squad. Our own Barry Fitzpatrick is also strength and conditioning coach with the squad. Best of luck to all involved.
YOUTH CLUB: Castletroy Youth Club takes place every Monday night in Monaleen GAA Club from 6pm to 7pm for 13-17 year-olds. The emphasis in the club is to make friends and have fun.
LOTTO: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €20,000. The draw took place on Thursday, May 10. The numbers drawn were 1, 7, 32, 33. Winners of €50 lucky dips were E. McMahon, Fairways; R/D Crehan, Bloomfield; D. Whelan, Castletroy Hts; J. Trehy, Gouig. Our jackpot remains at its maximum allowed limit of €20,000 and will remain at this level until some lucky winner carries off the Big prize. Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs and the draw is held every Thursday night in the club at 10pm.

U-13 HURLING: Our U-13 hurlers took part in the annual Dorry Murray U13 Tournament, hosted by Faugh’s GAA Club in Dublin in glorious sunshine on Sunday. The team won three of their fixtures, losing out to the eventual winners by a single point. Thanks to everyone at Faughs GAA Club for their hospitality on the day.

SUMMER CAMP: Reminder that the Monaleen GAA Club summer camp takes place from Monday, July 9 to Friday, July 13 at our Peafield Road pitch. The camp which takes place between 10am and 2pm is for children aged six and upwards. Registration forms are now available. Contact team coaches for further details.
SPONSOR A FEILE PLAYER: Be part of the Feile Achievement and help us raise funds for the Feile team so they can drive forward to All-Ireland glory next month. Player sponsors will be invited to “The Sponsors Night” to be held in Monaleen Clubhouse on the week of Feile 2018 which takes place in Galway on the weekend of June 8 to June 10 where there will be a ‘Lucky Dip Draw’ to match Player Sponsors with Feile Players. After the draw each Player Sponsor will individually present the Feile Gear to their drawn Player. All photographs of this event will be shared on the Monaleen GAA Club Website and all Monaleen GAA Club Social Media sites. Our Player Sponsors will also present the County Feile A medals (and hopefully National Feile A medals ) to their Sponsored player at the Monaleen Awards night later in the year.
