The Club wish to extend sympathy to The Tobin Family in the death of their father John. John was a massive servant to the club who served as treasurer for over 40 years. Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the comfort and peace that you seek and may the soul of your loved one rest in peace.

Victory Celebration Night – Sunday 30th December
If you are attending our celebration night get your order in ASAP to Liam 0868072856 to avoid disappointment. Tickets are in high Demand. Bus has only 4 few seats remaining on second Bus, first come first serve .Ticket collection this Thursday 20th December between 8pm and 9.30pm –in Community Centre, Knocklong.

To celebrate a truly remarkable year on the field, Garryspillane GAA will host a victory celebration night on Sunday December 30th at 6pm in the Four Star Woodlands House Hotel. The night will consist of a four course meal, medal presentation, and speech by a special guest followed by music and dancing. It will be the perfect finish to a perfect year.
There was no winner in this week’s €2300 Lotto Jackpot. The numbers were 3 19 23 24
The €20 lucky dip winners were David Tobin, Margaret McCarthy, John Browne, Eugene & Johnny, Jarlath & Norma. The €50 lucky dip winners were Billy Power, John Meade, Heavey Family, Pat O’Meara, S.Quigley.
Next jackpot will be €2350 and will take place in The Welcome Inn on 7th January 2019.

Annual Duck Race
Our annual Duck race has been deferred to March due to inclement weather.
Bord Na nÓg Medal Presentation Night
Garryspillane and Galbally Bord na Nog hosted their medal presentation night last Thursday evening 13th December in Knocklong Community Centre. TJ Ryan got proceedings underway with a minute silence for Garryspillane stalwart John Tobin who passed away earlier in the day. Our condolences to the Tobin family at this sad time. TJ introduced our special guests Tom and Dan Morrissey, who spoke to the gathered crowd. Our U13’s were presented with their Division 2 hurling medals and the U14’s with their Division 2 shield medals. Gearoid Power and James Ryan presented Mickey O’Keeffe his Mackey schools medal. Tom Quinlan, chairperson of Galbally spoke and then it was the presentation of the U14 football Division 2 and the U16 Division 1 shield medals. John Kiely was presented with a token on behalf of Garryspillane Bord na Nog by secretary Kevin O’Keeffe. Many thanks to all for attending this special night. Onwards and upwards for 2019
