Calling all parents/past players-we need you:
Croom GAA club is looking for new volunteers to help re-energise and drive our club into the future. Our recruitment drive begins with the most basic unit of voluntary commitment which is ‘One Hour’. This is the shortest time per week during which one person can make a difference. While it might appear a small amount, lots of one hour voluntary commitments can add up. The three main rewards people get from volunteering are the satisfaction of seeing the results, the feeling of doing good and meeting people. Research has found the main reason for not volunteering is that people were not asked in the first place. Well now you have been asked! If you are reading this we would love you to get involved! So why not give it a go? Your club and community needs you, even for one hour per week! If interested, please contact our club secretary Alan Sheerin to see what area of the club you might like to get involved in.
The first coaching course of the year (Level 1) is being run by Limerick Coaching & Games and takes place in Croagh GAA Club, commencing Wednesday January 30th. It involves 4 Wednesdyay in a row (7-10pm) aswell as Saturday February 2nd (9-2pm). Please see our club Facebook page for registration details (must register online in advance). Croom GAA club will reimburse the course cost to all who complete it and get involved with a club team in 2019. People/parents/coaches often ask “when and where they we improve their skills/ability as a coach?”. Well here is your chance! Any queries, please contact Stephen Lucey or Noel Hartigan (Limerick Games manager 0879581568).
Our Intermediate hurlers recommence preseason training on Tuesday January 29th. U21 and Minor players are invited and very welcome to train alongside the Intermediates.
The U21 hurling championship will begin in early February. The management team is Alan Sheerin, Mickey O’Donnell, Johnny Cahill, and Eoin O’Farrell.
GAA National Club Draw:
The GAA National Club Draw is now an annual event following its success over the past five years, in which over €6million has been raised by clubs. The sole purpose of the GAA National Club Draw is to assist clubs in their drive to raise much needed funds to aid in the development and the promotion of our games. Prizes are provided by Croke Park. Each club retains all the proceeds from the tickets sold by their club. Tickets are €10 and available from any committee member up to February 11th. The draw takes place on Wednesday, March 6th, with prizes presented on St. Patrick’s Day in Croke Park.
