Club Limerick Dublin Notes
Club Limerick Dublin wishes to extend its deepest sympathy to the family, friends and Patrickswell club on the sad passing of a Limerick great Leonard Enright. Recently inducted into the GAA Museum’s Hall of Fame, he was one of the top full backs of the 1970 and 1980s. Sub goalkeeper on the 1973 All-Ireland final winning team, Leonard won Munster titles in 1980 and 1981 and League titles in 1984 and 1985. At a time of fierce competition for this position, he was the All-Star full-back in 1980, 1981 and 1983. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
The Annual Mass for deceased members and friends and Social Evening takes place in The Goat, on Friday next 9th November at 7.30 pm. The celebrant will be Fr. Paddy Kelly and music will be supplied by Gerry Quinn, Tom Tuite, Caroline and Jimmy Keane. All-Ireland manager John Kiely will be present. Those wishing to have a family member or friend remembered in the mass should contact John Keating on 087 8344966. All welcome.
Since that famous day of August 19th, the hurling team has been busy with club championships, and visiting all of the Clubs and schools around the county to celebrate the great All-Ireland success and hopefully inspire future generations. In November, the squad will travel to the US for the Fenway Classic in Boston and engagements in New York and Chicago. When they return from the US, it is planned that their final public celebration event will be with Club Limerick Dublin, with a very special Victory Banquet at the Red Cow Moran Hotel on Thursday November 22nd.
Then they will be back in training for a month, before going on a well-earned holiday just after Christmas to Los Angeles and Cancun in Mexico, to recharge the batteries for the year ahead. The event on Nov 22nd has two objectives, firstly, to appropriately celebrate the All-Ireland success with the Limerick diaspora in Dublin, and secondly, to raise funds to contribute towards the players holiday.
We would greatly appreciate your support, whether as a Corporate sponsor or individual attendee. We have been 45 years waiting for the opportunity to celebrate a senior All-Ireland success for Limerick – let’s make the most of it!
The Corporate Rate is €1,500 per Table of 10, Corporate bookings can be made directly to Limerick GAA with Siobhan Scanlon at firstname.lastname@example.org or 087 3520395. If you know of any Limerick people in business that might be interested in this, please pass it on or send us their details.
