Ballyagran TidyTowns held our first 5km fun walk/run on Friday evening the 7th of September in Ballyagran. We were overwhelmed with the support shown in both sponsorship and participation. There was a lovely community spirit on the evening and everyone enjoyed some light refreshments in the hall with the all-important chat afterwards. All our junior participants went home with a lovely custom Ballyagran TidyTown medal and certificate of participation. We had great interest in our wear your county colours draw, the two fabulous hampers for this draw were supplied by Hourigan Family Foods. Hourigan Family Foods also kindly sponsored water and juice for the participants. Our other wonderful sponsors on the night were, Fitzgerald’s Woodland House Hotel Adare, Charleville Park Hotel, All Round Yoga Charleville, Dick’s Supervalu Charleville, Lee’s Centra Charleville, Fit4Life Health &Fitness Club Charleville, Friars’ Gate Kilmallock, Deebert House Hotel Kilmallock, Ballyagran Camogie Club and Esther’s Hair Salon Charleville. A big thank you to our stewards on the night who ensured the safety of the participants. Thanks to John Coleman who captured some stunning action shots on the night. These fabulous pictures can be seen on our Facebook page, Ballyagran TidyTowns. John Brady and Grace Dowling played a pivotal role in the planning and execution of our walk/run and we are very grateful to them. Thanks to all our members who set up the hall, created displays of all of sponsors and provided the refreshment afterwards. If you helped in any way in making Ballyagran TidyTowns first 5km walk/run a success, thank you. We are planning to do it all again next year and hope to see you all out again. Our next clean-up is on Saturday 15th of September at 3pm, we hope to target the approach roads to the village as well as the village, sadly the amount of litter is increasing.
