COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS: The GAA has issued a letter to all clubs about Covid-19 and “Return to Play”. In summary, the GAA are awaited the Government’s publication of proposed changes to current Covid-19 restrictions. The GAA reiterated that they have made no decisions about what competitions may or may not be facilitated in 2021. The key factor will be the time available to run inter-county competitions and the broader participation levels necessary for club fixtures at adult and child level
GAA inter-county senior teams are to resume collective training from Monday 19th. April, with a return to competitive action just around the corner.
In further good news for the GAA, the government will permit underage non-contact training in pods of up to 15 on April 26.
“From April 26th, outdoor sports training for under 18s can begin again, golf and outdoor tennis can be played.”
Con&AnnieKIRBY Memorial :
The Con & Annie Kirby Memorial, sponsored by JP & Noreen McManus, returned at Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night last 3rd. April for Round 2 and will continue for the month of April The Con & Annie Kirby Memorial is run in honour of Noreen’s parents and offers over €160,000 in Greyhound Racing prizemoney and €20,000 to Limerick GAA Clubs. Since 2013, clubs across Limerick have shared €140,000 in prizemoney plus even more from their free fundraising events. The greyhounds in this competition are some of the brightest young stars in the sport and all eyes will be on the competition.
On this Saturday night the Quarter Finals and Virtual Banner Parade will take place, Best of Luck to the following Clubs from the Division with Runners on Saturday, Staker Wallace, Hospital/Herbertstown in Heat 1, Knockainey in Heat 2 and Castletown/Ballyagran in Heat 4.

GAA Club Prizes : Each of the Limerick GAA Clubs assigned to the 6 Finalists on Saturday 24th April are guaranteed a prize. The winning club will receive €10,000 and a free fundraising event, 2nd and 3rd placed will receive €5,000 and €2,000 respectively and each of the remaining 3 clubs will get €1,000 each.
There’ll also be fun events each week of the competition with chances for your club members to win prizes.
