Pallasgreen GAA Club Notes:
Feile County Hurling Team:
The U15 Pallas/Kilteely-Dromkeen side produced a superb display of skill, determination, and resilience last weekend as they advanced to the semi-final of the County Féile competition following impressive victories over Ballybricken-Bohermore and Glenroe in the preliminary rounds. Their semi-final clash against Knockaderry, held at the Staker Wallace GAA Grounds in glorious sunshine, proved to be a great contest. In a fiercely contested encounter, both teams battled relentlessly, with neither side able to gain a decisive advantage in normal time. The match ultimately required extra time to separate them, where Pallas/Kilteely-Dromkeen showed tremendous composure and grit to edge ahead and secure a thrilling 1-8 to 0-9 victory.
With little time to recover, the team quickly regrouped for the county final, where Glenroe awaited after overcoming Cappamore in the other semi-final. Despite the physical and mental toll of the earlier battle, the Pallas/Kilteely-Dromkeen players rose to the challenge once more, cheered on by a passionate crowd of parents, supporters, and dedicated mentors.
The final was another tightly fought contest, with both sides displaying great determination. At halftime, the teams were level at 0-5 to 1-2, reflecting the evenly matched nature of the game. However, as the second half wore on, fatigue began to take its toll. Glenroe managed to find an extra edge in front of goal, capitalising on their chances to pull ahead and ultimately claim the title on a scoreline of 1-8 to 1-5.
While the result did not go their way in the final, the Pallas/Kilteely-Dromkeen team can take immense pride in their performances throughout the weekend. Their journey to the final was a tremendous achievement. Well done to all the players, mentors, and supporters on a gallant and memorable Féile campaign.
