Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:
Limerick Minors Qualify for All Ireland Semi-Final:
Shane Waters captained the Limerick minor hurlers to a convincing win over Clare in the All Ireland quarter final on Saturday last. Shane came away with 1-09 to his name, continuing his excellent form at this grade for Limerick. We now look forward to the semi-final against Galway on the weekend of the 13th of June.
Division 1 Hurling League Round 7 – Thursday 28th of May:
Na Piarsaigh 4-20 Patrickswell 0-24
An 8-point win for our senior hurler in their last league game of 2026. Solid performances throughout namely Mark O’Connor and JJ Carey at the back, along with Keith Dempsey providing an assured presence at midfield. We rattled the net on 4 occasions throughout the hour, the first coming from the stick of Marcus Hogan. Conor Boylan grabbed our second following his excellent turnover in the Well’s full back line. Evan Sweeney rolled back the years scoring 1-02 from play, his goal coming just after the restart. He took a serious belt for his troubles, a swipe across the knee that may have seen red on another day. Alex Kearns rounded off the goals close to the end, making the most of a wayward Patrickswell backpass to bat the sliotar to the net. The Well had Jason Gillane at centre forward, proving to be their main scoring threat. They had one goal scoring chance halfway through the first half, forcing a point blank save from Evan Condon. The result brings our Division 1 league campaign to an end with 8 points following 4 wins and 3 losses. Doon and Monaleen will contest this year’s final, ending on 10 and 9 points respectively. Ballybrown finished a point ahead of us also but lost out on a place in the final due to scoring difference. Our next competitive senior match sees us face off with Ballybrown in the City Senior hurling championship semi-final on the 13th of June in Mungret.
