Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:

Under-13 County Champions:
Our Under-13 Hurlers had a fantastic win in the Division 1 County Final on Saturday morning in Martinstown. Pitted against our City Division rivals Ballybrown, our lads left absolutely everything out on the field winning by 4 points after the final whistle. Mentor Finbar Ryan spoke after the game; “It was a super game of hurling. I couldn’t be prouder of the lads, they put in savage work all season and got the well-deserved recognition for it.” Well done to all involved. Final score: Na Piarsaigh 3-12 Ballybrown 3-08

Senior Hurling:
Our senior hurlers are back in the County League Final after an 8-point win over Murroe Boher last Friday evening. The game, originally fixed for Claughaun but changed to Fedamore earlier in the day, was played out in unusually chilly conditions for the month of June. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half, we went in 3-points to the good at the break, leading on score line of 11 points to 8. Our lead might have seemed small considering the strong headwind we were to play into in the second half, but our lads added to the scoreboard early with Ronan Lynch and Kevin Daly adding points along with a well finished goal by JJ Carey. Murroe Boher stayed in the hunt with a couple of scores but Kevin Daly was to add to our goal tally again on the 40 minute mark. James Daly made a great effort to keep out a Murroe Boher penalty but the ball ricocheted off his outstretched hurley and into the net. Will Henn added our third goal on 51 minutes, with both teams exchanging scores for the remainder of the game.
We will meet Kilmallock in the county league final, them having overcome Dromin Athlaca in the other semi-final. The fixture will be confirmed early this week. Final score: Na Piarsaigh 3-21 Murroe Boher 1-19

Business Breakfast:
We were absolutely delighted to have the GAA President Jarlath Burns in attendance for our Business Breakfast on Friday morning last. MC’d by our club secretary Lavinia Duggan, the morning was ran off in a smooth and professional manner with the best of Na Piarsaigh being shown off to the many visitors from all over Limerick and further afield, along with some Clare representatives sneaking in as well! We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the companies that supported this inaugural event and we look forward to many similar functions to follow off the back of its success. The breakfast coincided with the mini-launch of our 3-year strategy, of which the main launch is to take place on Monday night in the clubhouse.

Limerick:
Huge congratulations to Will, Mike, Conor and Peter, along with our senior selector Alan Cunningham on winning 6 in-a-row Munster Championships with Limerick. What an in incredible time this has been to be Limerick supporter and for our lads to be front and centre has been something to behold. They are a credit to each and everyone of us in Na Piarsaigh. Still plenty of hurling to be played yet, so we’ll see ye all in Croke Park in a few weeks. Luimneach Abú!!!
