Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:

Feile Hurlers:
An eventful weekend for our Under 15 feile hurlers as they began the journey at home in Na Piarsaigh. With 3 group games down for decision first up was Monaleen. A ding-dong battle pursued and a last-gasp leveler by Alex Kearns sealed a draw.
Next up were Ballybrown and a game where goals were crucial and we scored three to win on a 3-6 to 0-4 scorleine.
Last group game was against Mungret and once again a solid victory after a brilliant David O Keefe goal sealed a 1-7 to 0-6 win.
So onto the semi final which was played in Kilbreedy on Easter Monday.
Very wet conditions made life hard but a very close battle was fought out. A late laong range free from Alex Kearns brought the game into extra time. Two 5 minute halves then took place with Kilmallock taking the lad at the break. The second five minutes we equalised and had two great opportunities to seal it but didnt take them. Kilmallock converted a last minute free to win the game on an an0-8 to 0-7 scoreline.
A bitter pill to swallow but nonetheless an excellent couple of days for this wonderfully gifted group. Plenty more hurling to play this year so yes disappointed but not beaten.
Thanks to Cathal Minihane and his management team and the entire group of players who were excellent throughout.
Our B team was also in action and unfortunately, age and size went against them. Good preparation for next year. Thanks once again to the management and entire squad of players for their efforts.
