Limerick Players:
The Limerick U-15 Footballers played Longford in the Dermot Earley Cup on Saturday 1 August 2026 where they had a great win, well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Ódhran Bohane and Harry Nealon.
The Limerick U-16 Footballers played Tipperary and Waterford on Saturday 1 August 2026 coming out with two wins. Well done to the Mungret St. Pauls players Sammy Roche, Padraig Ahern, Seán Casey, Mark Nelligan and Sam Newman along with coach Timmy Hayes.
The Limerick U-14 Footballers played Clare and Waterford in Kilrossanty on Saturday 1 August 2026. Well done to players Oisín O’Callaghan, Paudí Mullins and Ruadhán Ó hAnnaidh who played and Fionn Cummane who was injured.
U14 Camogie:
Hard luck to our U14 team who had a tough round 1 match to kick off their championship campaign against Croagh/Kilfinny last Thursday night.
Captained by Faye O’Brien, this young squad battled away till the final whistle, showing great determination. Up next Doon!
Camogie Finals:
On Saturday, 9th August, the biggest day in the camogie calendar arrives as the All-Ireland Camogie Finals take centre stage.
As a club, we know the difference a strong crowd can make. Every cheer, clap and voice from the stands helps lift players and showcase the incredible passion for our game.
While our home county of Limerick may not be involved this year, celebrating the sport and simply enjoying a fantastic day out would be our recommendation to club members, families and supporters – round up the kids, make the trip and be part of the occasion.

Camogie:
The best people to tell the story of our club’s new facilities are the ones who use them every day.
Our Mungret St. Paul’s Camogie players recently shared what the gym, ball wall, pitch and Astro mean to them – helping them train harder, develop their skills, build confidence and injury prevention to name but a few.
These fantastic facilities are about so much more than bricks and mortar. They’re also creating opportunities for the next generation of players to learn, grow and achieve their potential.

U16 Camogie:
Our U16s headed to Crecora for round 5 of the Championship last week to play the amalgamation of Treaty Gaels & Crecora.
Minus some of our regulars the girls put in a great shift and were unlucky to lose out so late in the game by just 2 points.

Ladies Football:
After a fine display of football in the first half by Mungret, it was St. Senans who finished the stronger in the U19 League Final played at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale. Great patches of teamwork and a spirited performance were on show but just wasnt enough to overcome a strong St. Senans side. Final score St. Senans 3.10 Mungret 3.05.
U16 Hurling Division 1:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-13 Na Piarsaigh 1-26
Mungret St. Pauls welcomed a strong Na Piarsaigh side to Mungret on Monday evening, 27 July 2026 for their U16 Hurling Championship Division 1 encounter, with the visitors proving clinical to claim victory on a scoreline of 1-26 to 1-13.
Mungret St. Pauls made the ideal start, opening the scoring inside the first minute with a well-taken point. However, Na Piarsaigh quickly found their rhythm, hitting six unanswered points to establish an early advantage. Despite the difficult spell, Mungret St. Pauls continued to battle and responded with three points in quick succession to narrow the gap.
Na Piarsaigh maintained a high tempo throughout the opening half, consistently finding scores, but Mungret St. Pauls refused to let the game get away from them. Further points from the home side kept them in touch, with Mungret St. Pauls finishing the half strongly thanks to three scores in the closing minutes. At the break, Na Piarsaigh led 0-13 to 0-8.
Mungret St. Pauls began the second half positively with the opening point, reducing the deficit to four. Unfortunately, Na Piarsaigh struck a major blow five minutes into the half when they found the back of the net, stretching their lead once again.
To their credit, Mungret St. Pauls responded in the best possible fashion. A well-worked attack resulted in a superb goal midway through the second half, lifting the home side and the supporters on the sideline. Mungret St. Pauls continued to work tirelessly, adding further points through determined play and showing great character against Na Piarsaigh.
Na Piarsaigh, however, demonstrated their quality with an impressive scoring run in the final quarter, repeatedly converting possession into scores to keep Mungret St. Pauls at arm’s length. Despite never giving up and continuing to create chances until the final whistle, Mungret St. Pauls were unable to close the gap as the visitors ran out deserving winners.
While the result did not go Mungret St. Pauls’ way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. The players showed resilience throughout, responded well to setbacks, and continued to battle against an excellent Na Piarsaigh outfit. Their determination and work rate never wavered, and those qualities will stand to the squad as they look ahead to their remaining championship fixtures.
Intermediate Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-19 Knockainey 1-19
Mungret St. Pauls came up just short in a fiercely contested Intermediate Hurling Championship encounter against Knockainey in Fedamore on Thursday evening, 30 July 2026 with a second-half penalty ultimately proving the difference as the south Limerick side claimed a 1-19 to 0-19 victory.
Knockainey opened the scoring in the opening minute, but Mungret St. Pauls settled quickly and responded with two early points to edge in front. The sides traded scores throughout a competitive opening half, with Mungret St. Pauls showing excellent composure in possession and working hard to create scoring opportunities.
Points from all over the field kept the scoreboard ticking for Mungret St. Pauls, who enjoyed a particularly strong spell midway through the half, scoring four points to maintain control. Knockainey remained within touching distance, but Mungret St. Pauls finished the half with another well-taken point to head into the interval leading 0-9 to 0-6.
Mungret St. Pauls made the ideal start to the second half with the opening point, extending their advantage to four. Knockainey responded immediately with four unanswered points to level matters before the game developed into a tense, score-for-score battle.
The sides exchanged points throughout the third quarter, with Mungret St. Pauls repeatedly answering every Knockainey score to keep the contest finely balanced. Consecutive Mungret St. Pauls points around the midway point of the half restored momentum, while further scores ensured the sides remained separated by the narrowest of margins.
The pivotal moment arrived in the middle of the second half when Knockainey were awarded a penalty. They made no mistake from the spot, converting the goal that would ultimately prove decisive in a game where clear-cut goal chances were at a premium.
True to form, Mungret St. Pauls refused to let their heads drop. They responded with three excellent points after the concession of the goal to close the gap and set up an exciting finish. With the deficit reduced to just two points entering the closing stages, Mungret St. Pauls continued to push forward in search of the goal that would swing the game back in their favour.
However, Knockainey held their composure under late pressure, adding two insurance points in the closing minutes to secure the victory despite Mungret St. Pauls determined efforts.
Although disappointed with the result, Mungret St. Pauls can take plenty of positives from the performance. They led for long periods, matched Knockainey throughout the contest, and showed tremendous resilience after the setback of the penalty goal. On another evening, a bounce of the ball or a late goal chance could easily have changed the outcome, but the squad’s work rate, determination and character were evident throughout and will provide a solid foundation heading into the next championship outing.
U14 Football Division 4:
Mungret/St. Pauls 2-4 Cappagh/Rathkeale 4-3
Mungret St. Pauls were left to rue a handful of decisive moments as they narrowly lost out to Cappagh Rathkeale in an entertaining U14 football division 4 encounter in Crescent Comprehensive on Thursday evening, 30 July 2026. Despite finding the net twice and battling until the final whistle, the visitors edged the contest by the slimmest of margins, 4-3 to 2-4.
Played in excellent spirit, both teams showed great determination throughout a competitive hour of football. Mungret St. Pauls matched their opponents for long periods and demonstrated plenty of attacking intent, with two well-worked goals keeping them firmly in contention.
The home side worked tirelessly around the field, defending resolutely and showing great commitment in every challenge. Their ability to create goal-scoring opportunities ensured they remained within touching distance, while a number of well-taken points added to an impressive attacking display.
However, Cappagh Rathkeale proved clinical in front of goal ultimately making the difference in a closely fought contest. Despite conceding those goals, Mungret St. Pauls never allowed the game to drift away from them and continued to fight back with determined passages of play.
As the game entered the closing stages, Mungret St. Pauls pushed hard in search of the scores that would turn the result in their favour. The players showed excellent character and resilience, refusing to give in and battling right to the final whistle, but Cappagh Rathkeale held on to claim the victory.
While disappointment was evident at the final whistle, there were many positives for Mungret St. Pauls to take from the performance. The players displayed tremendous heart, teamwork and determination throughout, and the experience gained from this match will stand to the squad as they continue their development over the remainder of the season.
U14 Division 1 & 2 Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-10 Adare 2-2
Mungret St. Pauls produced an outstanding team performance to record an impressive 3-10 to 2-2 victory over Adare in their U14 Division 1 & 2 Football clash on Thursday evening 30 July 2026.
Travelling to Adare, Mungret St. Pauls settled into the game quickly, showing excellent intensity from the throw-in. Strong work throughout the field ensured they enjoyed plenty of possession, while disciplined defending limited Adare’s scoring opportunities.
Mungret St. Pauls moved the ball with confidence and purpose, creating a number of excellent attacking chances. Their hard work was rewarded with three well-taken goals, while a steady stream of points demonstrated the accuracy and composure of the Mungret St. Pauls forwards. Every line of the team contributed, with defenders breaking up attacks, midfielders working tirelessly, and the forwards making the most of the opportunities created.
Although Adare managed to find the net twice, Mungret St. Pauls responded impressively on each occasion, refusing to allow the home side to build any momentum. Their defensive organisation and relentless work rate ensured that Adare were restricted to just two points over the course of the game.
As the contest progressed, Mungret St. Pauls continued to dictate the tempo, displaying excellent teamwork and intelligent use of possession. Their movement off the ball and willingness to work for one another allowed them to pull clear in the closing stages and secure a deserved eleven-point victory.
This was a hugely encouraging display from Mungret St. Pauls, with the squad showing great skill, determination and commitment from first whistle to last. The balance between a solid defensive effort and a clinical attacking performance was particularly pleasing, and the result provides a well-earned boost as the team continues its campaign.

Senior Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-23 Kildimo-Pallaskenry 4-7
Mungret St. Pauls produced a remarkable display of resilience and accuracy to overcome Kildimo-Pallaskenry by four points in an enthralling opening round of the Senior Hurlin Championship encounter at Sean Finn Park on Friday evening 31 July 2026. Despite conceding four goals, Mungret St. Pauls relentless point-scoring saw them emerge deserved 0-23 to 4-7 winners.
The game began at a lively pace, with Kildimo-Pallaskenry opening the scoring before Mungret St. Pauls responded with two excellent points to take an early lead. The sides exchanged scores throughout a fiercely competitive opening quarter, with Mungret St. Pauls sharp passing and accurate shooting keeping them in front.
However, the contest swung dramatically midway through the half when Kildimo-Pallaskenry struck for two quick-fire goals in the space of just two minutes. Those majors turned a narrow Mungret St. Pauls advantage into a deficit, but the response from Mungret St. Pauls was outstanding. Rather than letting the setback affect them, they continued to play composed hurling, picking off points through patient build-up play and excellent finishing.
Further scores before the interval kept Mungret St. Pauls firmly in touch, although Kildimo-Pallaskenry held a 2-6 to 0-10 advantage at the break.
Mungret St. Pauls came flying out for the second half, registering two early points to cut the gap before another Kildimo-Pallaskenry goal threatened to derail the comeback. Once again, the Mungret St. Pauls players showed tremendous character, refusing to panic and instead trusting their hurling.
The response was superb. Mungret St. Pauls dominated possession for long periods and embarked on an impressive scoring run, repeatedly splitting the posts with a series of well-worked points. Their work rate all over the field was exceptional, with the defence limiting further opportunities, the midfield driving the team forward, and the forwards making every attack count.
By the final quarter, Mungret St. Pauls had completely overturned the deficit, moving ahead thanks to their relentless accuracy from play and placed balls. Although Kildimo-Pallaskenry found a fourth goal late in the game to keep the contest alive, Mungret St. Pauls never lost their composure.
Three points in the closing minutes sealed an outstanding victory, capping a second-half performance full of determination, discipline and quality.
To score 23 points without finding the net is a testament to the clinical finishing and consistency of the Mungret St. Pauls attack. Equally impressive was the team’s resilience, recovering from conceding four goals to secure a deserved championship win.
It was a victory built on character, teamwork and belief, with every player making a valuable contribution. The result gives Mungret St. Pauls valuable momentum as they continue their Senior Hurling Championship campaign and will provide great confidence for the challenges ahead.
Junior B Hurling:
Ahane 0-16 Mungret St. Pauls 0-16
Mungret St. Pauls battled back from a three-point half-time deficit to earn a well-deserved share of the spoils against Ahane in an entertaining Junior B Hurling Championship clash in Rhebogue on Sunday evening, 2 August 2026. A determined second-half display saw Mungret St. Pauls finish level with Ahane, 0-16 apiece, after an absorbing contest.
Mungret St. Pauls made the brighter start, opening the scoring inside the first minute before Ahane quickly responded. The opening quarter was played at a high tempo, with both sides matching each other score for score. Mungret St. Pauls repeatedly edged in front through some excellent point-taking, but Ahane continued to respond and kept the game finely balanced.
As the first half progressed, Ahane enjoyed their strongest spell of the game, hitting a succession of points to establish a three-point cushion. Mungret St. Pauls stayed in touch thanks to a late score before the interval, but Ahane took an 0-11 to 0-8 lead into the dressing rooms.
The visitors emerged for the second half with renewed determination, registering the opening two points to immediately reduce the deficit to a single score. Although Ahane responded with points of their own, Mungret St. Pauls’ work rate and discipline never dropped, and they continued to chip away at the lead with some excellent hurling.
A strong period in the middle of the second half saw Mungret St. Pauls score four unanswered points, turning the momentum firmly in their favour. Excellent defending limited Ahane’s opportunities, while the midfield and forwards combined effectively to keep the scoreboard moving.
The closing stages were played at championship intensity, with every score proving vital. Ahane regained parity with a late point, but Mungret St. Pauls responded once more, refusing to allow the home side to pull clear. A well-earned point deep into added time ensured the sides could not be separated when the final whistle sounded.
While there was no winner on the evening, Mungret St. Pauls will take great encouragement from their second-half performance. Having trailed by three points at the break, they showed tremendous resilience, character and composure to battle back and earn a deserved draw.
The defensive unit worked tirelessly throughout, limiting Ahane’s scoring chances, while the forwards demonstrated impressive accuracy to finish with sixteen points. It was a true team performance, with every player contributing to an entertaining championship encounter.
The result leaves Mungret St. Pauls with plenty of positives to build on as they continue their Junior B Hurling Championship campaign, with the spirit and determination shown in Rhebogue sure to stand to the squad in the games ahead.
