Limerick Players:
Congratulations to the Munster U14 Green and Glas Limerick teams on their performances at the yesterday’s Provincial Blitz.
-The Green team travelled to Waterford and produced some excellent displays, drawing with eventual champions Galway and competing strongly against Tipperary and Waterford.
-The Glas team, playing in Rathkeale, battled hard against Cork and Tipperary before finishing their day in style with an impressive win over Waterford crowning them shield champions!
A special well done to our Mungret St. Paul’s representatives Sophia Byrnes, Aisling Carroll, Phoebe Mullane and Mia Larkin, along with coach Niall Mullane, who all represented the club with great pride.
Well done to the Limerick Gaelic Masters who had a win over Clare in Rhebogue on Friday 19 June 2026. Mungret St. Pauls are proud to have Breandán Ó hAnnaidh on the team.
On Saturday 20 June 2026 the U-16 Footballers played Laois where they came up short at the final whistle. Laois 3-18 v Limerick 2-09. Mungret St. Pauls had Paddy Ahern, Sammy Roche and Sam Newman involved with Sean Casey and Mark Nelligan unavailable.
U14 Division 1 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-12 Granagh Ballingarry 0-6
Mungret St. Pauls’ U-14 hurlers produced an excellent display on Monday evening, 15 June 2026 as they travelled to Ballingarry and recorded a convincing 3-12 to 0-6 victory over Granagh Ballingarry in Division 1 action. From the outset, Mungret St. Pauls settled well and showed great intensity and teamwork throughout the field. Strong defending limited the home side’s scoring opportunities, while the attack made the most of their chances, with three well-taken goals proving decisive. The visitors displayed plenty of skill and determination, with some excellent passages of play resulting in a steady stream of scores. Their work rate and commitment never dropped and they maintained control of the contest from start to finish. Defensively, Mungret St. Pauls were equally impressive, restricting Granagh Ballingarry to just six points and ensuring that the home side never managed to find the net. It was a thoroughly deserved victory and another encouraging performance from the young Mungret St. Pauls side, whose blend of teamwork, skill and determination saw them emerge as comfortable winners on a scoreline of 3-12 to 0-6. Well done to all involved on an excellent team display.
U8 Camogie:
The MSPCamogie U8s took a trip to Bruff on Saturday and showed off their hard work and skills in very competitive games v the hosts Bruff, Galbally and Glenroe.
It was great to see such a strong turnout of players, so many girls getting involved and enjoying camogie. Games like these are important for building confidence and developing friends both on and off the field. Thanks to all the parents who travelled and supported on the day and of course our coaches who work hard to help players improve and enjoy the best sport in the world.
U13 Camogie:
The Limerick Camogie U13 Development league kicked off on the 9th Jun when we welcomed Kildimo Pallaskenry to #MSPCamogie HQ. Captained by Clara O’Grady the team did really well and stayed in the game right till the end when unfortunately our opponents got two late goals. This U13 age group in camogie is considered a “transition stage” between the younger Go Games formats and U14 championship. Where the emphasis is on: developing core skills in match situations, giving all players meaningful game time and, helping them experience different positions on the field. At the end of this league the girls will be well able for competitive camogie at U14 and beyond! Keep her lit.
Game Changer:
Mungret St. Pauls has been selected to pilot the Game Changer Programme, an initiative that aims to address gender-based violence and promote equality through sport. The Munster Officer will visit the club on Thursday, 2nd July at 7.00pm to meet with us and introduce the programme. We are hoping to have a group of at least 10 participants in attendance, with a mix of male and female players, coaches and volunteers, all aged 18 and over. We would greatly appreciate your support and encourage anyone interested to attend.

Mungret St. Pauls Fall Just Short in the City Junior A Football Final on Thursday 18 June 2026.
Mungret St. Pauls’ hopes of lifting the City Junior A Football Championship title were dashed by the narrowest of margins in Rhebogue, as St. Patricks edged a fiercely contested final by 2-7 to 0-12 in what was the wettest evening of the week.
St. Patricks made the brighter start and were two points to the good inside the opening three minutes before striking for a goal on seven minutes to open up an early five-point advantage. Mungret St. Pauls responded impressively, however, and settled into the game with a superb two-point score from play after ten minutes.
The momentum continued to swing in Mungret St. Pauls’ favour as a two-point free levelled the contest before a well-taken point from play edged them in front for the first time. St. Patricks briefly stemmed the tide with a point of their own, but Mungret St. Pauls remained composed and added scores from a free and two excellent points from play to move 0-8 to 1-3 ahead. Just as Mungret St. Pauls looked to be taking control, St. Patricks struck a crucial blow with their second goal. A further point from a free before the interval saw them take a slender 2-4 to 0-8 lead into the break. The opening score of the second half went the way of St. Patricks, extending their advantage to three points. Mungret St. Pauls battled hard and reduced the gap through a point from play two minutes into the half, but scores proved difficult to come by for both sides as defences tightened. A St. Patricks free restored their three-point cushion before Mungret St. Pauls answered once again with a well-worked point from play. Another St. Patricks point left Mungret St. Pauls with work to do entering the closing stages.
Showing tremendous determination, Mungret St. Pauls refused to let the game slip away. Two late frees brought them to within a single point and set up a tense finish, but despite relentless pressure in the closing minutes, they were unable to find the equalising score.
At the final whistle, St. Patricks held on for a 2-7 to 0-12 victory, with their two first-half goals ultimately proving the difference in a hard-fought and highly competitive final.
While disappointment will be felt in the Mungret St. Pauls camp after coming so close, there were many positives to take from a spirited display that saw the side battle until the very end. Their resilience, accuracy from placed balls and determination throughout ensured a final worthy of the occasion, even if the result ultimately went against them.

Senior Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 2-20 Na Piarsaigh 2-10
Mungret St. Pauls were crowned City senior football champions on Friday evening, 19 June 2026, following an impressive 2-20 to 2-10 victory over Na Piarsaigh in a final that was switched to Mungret at the last minute due to an unplayable pitch.
Played in front of the home support, Mungret St. Pauls made a positive start when John Hutton opened the scoring from play after just two minutes. Na Piarsaigh responded with a two-point free before Hutton levelled matters from a placed ball on seven minutes.
Despite Na Piarsaigh edging ahead with two further points from play, Mungret St. Pauls seized control of the contest midway through the half. Frank Corcoran converted a free before Shane Barry struck for the game’s opening goal in the 12th minute, finishing confidently to put Mungret St. Pauls in front. John Hutton quickly added another point and the home side continued to build momentum through scores from Brendan Giltenane and Daragh Bridgeman, whose clever handpass over the bar stretched the lead to five points.
Na Piarsaigh fought back strongly as the half progressed. A point from a 45 was followed by a goal from play and another point to draw level. Mungret St. Pauls regained the advantage through a John Hutton free before Na Piarsaigh once again tied the game. Deep into first-half stoppage time, Ronan McElligott calmly converted a 45 to send Mungret St. Pauls into the interval with a narrow 1-8 to 1-7 lead. The second half belonged to Mungret St. Pauls, just two minutes after the restart, Shane Barry landed a superb two-point score from play before Diarmaid Hynes followed up with another excellent point to push the lead out to four. Although Na Piarsaigh found a lifeline with a goal on 15 minutes, Mungret St. Pauls responded in the best possible fashion. A brilliant team move culminated in Brendan Giltenane finding the net just a minute later to restore Mungret St. Pauls control. That score sparked a dominant spell as Diarmaid Hynes, Conor Collins and Giltenane all added points from play, stretching the advantage to seven points. Na Piarsaigh briefly reduced the gap with a two-pointer and a free, but Mungret St. Pauls continued to play with confidence and composure. Diarmaid Hynes produced an outstanding two-point effort from play, while Brendan Giltenane and Shane Barry added further scores as the champions-elect moved clear.
John Hutton had the final say, converting a two-point free in injury time to put the seal on a commanding ten-point victory. The final whistle sparked scenes of celebration as Mungret St. Pauls secured the City Senior Football Championship title on a scoreline of 2-20 to 2-10. It was a superb team performance, with scores coming from throughout the side and a dominant second-half display proving decisive.
Following the presentation, captain Robert Hegarty proudly accepted the City Senior Football Championship Cup from Limerick GAA Treasurer Sean Burke, bringing a memorable evening to a fitting conclusion for Mungret St. Pauls.
