Congratulations to the Limerick Senior Camogie team on an impressive Round 2 win over Offaly in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship at TUS Moylish on Saturday. We’re especially proud to see our own Ailbhe Larkin as Vice Captain.

On Saturday 6 June 2026 in TUS Gaelic Ground the Limerick Celtic Challenge Division 2 Final against Clare Saffron took place, this game came down to the wire with Clare Saffron getting the win by 1 point. Mungret St. Pauls had Ruairi Dwane and Charlie Tobin both playing well on the day.
Saturday 6 June 2026 also saw the Gaelic Master Footballers playing Kerry where they finished with a loss against a stronger side. Mungret St. Pauls had Breandán Ó hAnnaidh on the panel.
On Sunday 7 June 2026 there was great excitement in Cork when the Limerick Senior hurlers won the Munster Hurling Mick Mackey Cup, Congratulations to John Kiely, his backroom team and all the players, especially our own Fintan Fitzgerald.
During half time on Sunday 7 June 2026 Mungret St. Pauls were well represented as we had Íseult Ní Annaidh (Gaelscoil an Ráithín) and Milo McDonagh (Educate Together Primary School) playing in the Cumman na mBunscoil Primary Game. A great honor for both families and the club, well done to both Íseult and Milo.
Community Games:
Congratulations to Brian Murphy on his U-13 Community Games All Ireland Hand ball 4th place win. An excellent achievement in our first time in entering this competition.
Primary Games:
Well done to Liv Cantillon who played on the Limerick Camogie Development Primary Games Team at half-time on last Sundays Limerick v Tipp match.
To play on the big stage of the TUS Gaelic Grounds and experience a real match day atmosphere is a memory that Liv will no doubt have forever.
Intermediate Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-17 Hospital Herbertstown 2-14
Mungret St. Pauls secured their Division 4 status for another season following a hard-fought draw with Hospital Herbertstown in an entertaining Intermediate Hurling League encounter in Mungret on Monday 1 June 2026
With so much at stake, both sides showed great determination throughout a closely contested game that saw momentum swing back and forth before finishing level at 1-17 to 2-14.
Hospital Herbertstown made the brighter start, opening the scoring after four minutes before Mungret St. Pauls quickly responded with a point from play. The visitors continued to edge the early exchanges and a goal on ten minutes helped them establish a five-point lead. Further scores followed and Hospital Herbertstown looked in control as they led 1-4 to 0-2 after the first quarter.
To their credit, Mungret St. Pauls gradually worked their way back into the contest. Scores from play and placed balls reduced the deficit before a crucial goal midway through the half brought the sides level at 1-5 apiece. Mungret St. Pauls continued to build momentum and finished the opening period strongly, outscoring the visitors during the closing stages to take a narrow 1-8 to 1-7 advantage into the break.
The home side could not have wished for a better start to the second half. Three quick points, including one from a free, extended Mungret St. Pauls’ lead to four points and gave them a strong platform. However, Hospital Herbertstown refused to go away and gradually chipped into the deficit with a series of scores.
The turning point appeared to come into the closing minutes of the third quarter, when Hospital Herbertstown converted a goal from a free to move ahead by two points. Mungret St. Pauls responded admirably to this setback. A free was quickly converted before two excellent points from play restored parity and reignited the home support.
The contest remained finely balanced for the remainder of the game. Scores were traded throughout a tense final quarter with neither side able to establish a decisive advantage. Mungret St. Pauls kept their noses in front through a mixture of accurate free-taking and composed finishing from play, but Hospital Herbertstown continued to find answers and levelled matters again with four minutes remaining.
Despite late efforts from both teams, neither side could find the winning score and the referee’s final whistle confirmed a draw on a scoreline of 1-17 to 2-14.
While victory narrowly eluded Mungret St. Pauls, the result was enough to achieve the primary objective of retaining their Division 4 status for next season. The players showed tremendous character throughout, recovering from an early deficit and again responding positively after falling behind in the second half. Their resilience and determination ultimately earned a valuable point and ensured Division 4 hurling will remain in Mungret St. Pauls for another year.
U14 Division 4 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-11 Dromin – Athlaca/Banogue 3-11
Mungret St. Pauls U-14 hurlers put in a spirited performance on Thursday evening, 4 June 2026 but ultimately came up short against a strong Dromin Athlacca Banogue side in the Division 4 Hurling Championship in Athlacca.
The game was competitive throughout, with both teams showing plenty of skill, determination and commitment. Mungret St. Pauls battled hard from the opening whistle and matched their opponents for long periods, but the concession of three goals proved decisive in the end.
The visitors worked hard all over the field and were rewarded with some excellent scores, finishing the contest with an impressive tally of 1-11. The Mungret St. Pauls forwards caused problems throughout and took their chances well, while the midfield and defence worked tirelessly against a physically strong home side.
Dromin Athlacca Banogue, however, made the most of their goal opportunities and those major scores ultimately gave them the edge on the scoreboard. Despite the setback, Mungret St. Pauls never allowed the game to get away from them and continued to battle until the final whistle, showing great character and determination throughout.
There were many positives for the Mungret St. Pauls management team to take from the performance. The players displayed excellent work rate, teamwork and resilience, qualities that will stand to them as the championship campaign continues. While the result did not go Mungret St. Pauls’ way on this occasion, the effort and commitment shown by every player was commendable. With plenty of hurling still ahead, the squad will look to learn from the experience and build on this performance in the coming weeks.
Senior Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-12 Monaleen 1-8
Mungret St. Pauls booked their place in the City Senior Football Final after a thrilling extra-time victory over Monaleen in a tense and hard-fought semi-final played in Mungret on Saturday evening, 6 June 2026.
A semi-final that had everything—tight marking, a dramatic comeback, extra-time tension, and a winning score at the death. Mungret St. Pauls showed immense character to keep their season alive and move one step closer to silverware.
Monaleen opened the scoring after six minutes and added a free four minutes later to lead by two. Chances were at a premium in a tightly contested first half, but Mungret St. Pauls responded in style just at the end of the first quarter, when a superb two-point free brought the sides level. Monaleen nudged back in front midway through the half before Mungret St. Pauls replied with a free on the stroke of half-time to leave the teams deadlocked at 0-3 apiece at the interval.
The home side started the second half brightly, converting an early free to take the lead for the first time. However, Monaleen responded with two points from play to regain the advantage. Mungret St. Pauls once again showed their resilience, hitting back with two excellent scores from play to move ahead by the ninth minute of the half.
The pivotal moment arrived on fifteen minutes when Monaleen struck for the game’s only goal, turning a one-point deficit into a two-point lead. The visitors defended resolutely and looked to be in control as the game entered the closing stages.
Mungret St. Pauls refused to yield. A free on nineteen minutes reduced the gap before Monaleen stretched their advantage to two once again with a late point. With time running out, Mungret St. Pauls dug deep. A well-taken point on thirty-one minutes was followed almost immediately by another score from play to level the contest at 0-9 to 1-6 and send the semi-final to extra time.
The drama continued in the additional periods. Mungret St. Pauls edged in front with an early point in the first half of extra time, only for Monaleen to respond and leave the teams level once more at the turnaround.
The second period of extra time was equally tense. Mungret St. Pauls regained the lead through a fine point from play, but Monaleen again found an answer to leave the sides tied entering the final moments. With penalties looming, Mungret St. Pauls found one last score when it mattered most. Showing tremendous composure and character, the home side landed the decisive point to move ahead and held firm for the final whistle.
Scenes of celebration followed as Mungret St. Pauls secured a memorable 0-12 to 1-8 victory and with it a place in the City Senior Football Final.
This was a victory built on resilience, teamwork and belief. On a day when every score had to be earned, Mungret St. Pauls showed tremendous determination to battle back on several occasions and eventually come out on top after more than eighty minutes of football.
