Schools Camogie:
The U13C City Schools Final took place on Monday in the glory of the sunny Gaelic Grounds
where an #MSPCamogie heavy St Nessans team took on Kildimo NS.
Who better to captain St Nessans than Liv Cantillon, who’s honor it was to be playing for the
second day in a row, having played in Sundays half time primary game during the Limerick v
Tipp showdown!
St Nessans were 2-0 down early doors, fought back to take the lead and pushed on positively –
then had to dog it out in last 2 minutes after a late Kildimo goal put things back in the mixer….!!
And that’s why camogie is the greatest sport in the world, because it’s anyone’s game until that
whistle blows!
Well done to the victors St. Nessans National School, parents/family/friends in attendance and
the teachers who take the time to coach the players – and hard luck to Kildimo NS
St Nessans 3-5 Kildimo NS 4-0.

Community Games Camogie:
Well done to all the #MSPCamogie players taking part in the Regional Community Games this
year! The girls put in two incredibly competitive and hard-fought performances on the pitch recently:
Game 1: A narrow loss after a superb effort against a strong Dromcollogher/Broadford team.
Game 2: A brilliant response, producing an excellent win over Ballingarry/Granagh.
While the results show one win and one loss, the real achievement was the outstanding team
spirit and pride displayed throughout. Every player gave it their all from start to finish. The
future looks very bright for this talented group!

Intermediate Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-16 Feenagh Kilmeedy 2-21
Mungret St. Pauls travelled to Feenagh on a very hot Tuesday evening, 26 May 2026 for their
latest Intermediate Hurling League fixture, where they faced a strong Feenagh Kilmeedy side in
an entertaining and hard-fought contest. The home side settled quickest and opened with two early points before Mungret St. Pauls got on the scoreboard through a well-struck free. Mungret St. Pauls responded well during the opening quarter, adding scores from play and frees to stay within touching distance. By the end of the first quarter, by the water break, Mungret St. Pauls had reduced the deficit to a single point at 0-4 to 0-5.
However, Feenagh Kilmeedy enjoyed a productive spell approaching half-time. A series of
points was followed by a goal, helping them establish a significant advantage. Mungret St. Pauls
continued to battle and added further points from play and placed balls, but the hosts
maintained their momentum and carried a seven-point lead into the break.
At half-time, Mungret St. Pauls trailed by 1-11 to 0-7.
The second half could hardly have started in a more difficult fashion for Mungret St. Pauls as
Feenagh Kilmeedy struck for a goal immediately after the restart, stretching their lead to ten
points. Despite the setback, Mungret St. Pauls responded admirably and produced some of
their best hurling of the evening.
A succession of points from play saw Mungret St. Pauls chip away at the deficit. The visitors
found a good rhythm in attack and continued to create scoring opportunities through
determined work all over the field. Scores in quick succession midway through the half reduced
the gap and kept Mungret St. Pauls firmly in the contest.
The turning point came just after the second water break in the second half when Mungret St.
Pauls finished a fine attacking move to the net, cutting the deficit to seven points and giving the
side renewed belief. Further scores followed as Mungret St. Pauls continued to press forward
and refuse to let the game slip away.
Despite Mungret St. Pauls efforts, Feenagh Kilmeedy always seemed to have an answer and
responded with important points whenever Mungret St. Pauls threatened to build momentum.
Their accuracy in front of goal and ability to take key scores at crucial moments proved decisive.
Mungret St. Pauls continued to work tirelessly until the final whistle, adding late points from a
free and play, but the home side closed out the game to secure victory on a scoreline of 2-21 to
1-16. While disappointed with the result, Mungret St. Pauls can take positives from their
determination and second-half response. The players showed great character to keep battling throughout and will look to build on that performance in the last remaining league fixture.

U14 Division 4 Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-7 Galtee Gaels 3-4
Mungret St. Pauls’ U14 footballers began their division 4 championship campaign on Thursday
evening, 28 May 2026 in Mungret, producing a determined and spirited display against Galtee
Gaels in a closely contested Round 1 encounter.
The home side started brightly and matched their opponents throughout a competitive first
half. Mungret St. Pauls worked hard in defence while showing plenty of attacking intent
whenever opportunities arose. A crucial goal helped keep the scoreboard ticking over and,
combined with some well-taken points, ensured they remained firmly in contention.
Despite Galtee Gaels finding the net twice during the opening period, Mungret St. Pauls
responded impressively and went score for score with their visitors. The sides were level at the
break, with Mungret St. Pauls on 1-3 and Galtee Gaels on 2-0, setting up an exciting second
half. The contest remained finely balanced after the restart, with both teams battling hard for every possession. Mungret St. Pauls continued to create scoring opportunities and added four more points to their tally, demonstrating great resilience and teamwork throughout the field.
Galtee Gaels, however, made the most of their goal-scoring chances, adding a third major score
which ultimately proved decisive. While Mungret St. Pauls edged the scoring in points, the
visitors’ goals gave them a narrow advantage heading into the closing stages.
To their credit, the Mungret St. Pauls players never stopped fighting and continued to press
forward until the final whistle. Their commitment, work rate, and determination were evident
throughout an entertaining championship encounter.
Although the result ended in a 3-4 to 1-7 victory for Galtee Gaels, there were many positives for

May 2026.
The Mungret St. Pauls boys could not have asked for a better start. Within seconds of the
throw-in they opened the scoring with a fine point from play before adding a goal just over a
minute later. Another point followed before a second goal inside the opening five minutes left
Mungret St. Pauls firmly in control and set the tone for an impressive display.

continued to dominate possession and attack with pace and purpose. Two more points were
added before another 2 goals stretched the lead further. Although Galbally found the net late in
the half, Mungret St. Pauls headed to the break with a commanding advantage.
At half-time, Mungret St. Pauls led 4-4 to 1-2.
Any hopes of a Galbally comeback were quickly extinguished after the restart as Mungret St.
Pauls produced a blistering spell of attacking football. Goals in the third and fourth minutes of
the second half were followed by a point before another goal moments later capped a
devastating period that effectively secured the title.
Mungret St. Pauls continued to move the ball with confidence and precision, adding further
points from play and a well-taken free. Galbally battled bravely throughout and struck for two
second-half goals as they continued to work hard until the final whistle, but Mungret St. Pauls
always maintained control of proceedings.
The final stages saw Mungret St. Pauls add further scores to round off an excellent afternoon’s
work, with every player contributing to a superb team performance. Strong defending, tireless
work rate, and clinical finishing in front of goal were key factors in a deserved victory.

U13 Division 1 Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-3 Monaleen 0-8
Mungret St. Pauls’ U-13 footballers produced a determined and spirited display in the Division 1
Football League Cup Final in Fedamore on Saturday, 30 May 2026, but ultimately came up just
short against Monaleen in a closely contested encounter.
Mungret St. Pauls made the perfect start to the game and were first on the scoreboard when
they pointed from play after just four minutes. Less than two minutes later, they struck a major
blow as a well-worked attack resulted in a goal, giving Mungret St. Pauls an early 1-1 to 0-0
advantage.
The Mungret St. Pauls defence worked tirelessly throughout the opening half, frustrating
Monaleen and limiting their scoring opportunities. Monaleen gradually settled into the contest
and responded with three unanswered points, two from play and one from a free, but Mungret
St. Pauls held a slender lead at the interval.
At half-time, Mungret St. Pauls led by the narrowest of margins, 1-1 to 0-3.
The second half remained fiercely competitive. Mungret St. Pauls extended their lead early on
with an excellent point from play, but Monaleen began to gain momentum and their accuracy
from placed balls proved crucial. A series of points from frees, combined with scores from play,
saw them edge in front midway through the half.
Despite falling behind, Mungret St. Pauls continued to battle hard and showed tremendous
character. A well-taken point with five minutes remaining reduced the deficit and kept hopes
alive, but Monaleen responded with another free to maintain their advantage.
As the final whistle sounded, Monaleen emerged victorious on a scoreline of 0-8 to 1-3, leaving
Mungret St. Pauls disappointed but proud of a courageous effort in a high-quality final.
While the result did not go their way, the Mungret St. Pauls players can take great pride in
reaching the Division 1 Football League Cup Final and in the determination, skill, and teamwork
they displayed throughout the campaign. Their commitment and resilience were evident from
start to finish, and the experience gained will stand to them as they continue their football
development.

Senior Hurling League:
Mungret St. Pauls 2-22 Kildimo Pallaskenry 2-14
Mungret St. Pauls recorded an impressive eight-point victory over Kildimo Pallaskenry in the
last round of the Senior Hurling League on Saturday evening, 30 May 2026 producing a strong
all-round performance to secure a deserved 2-22 to 2-14 win in Pallaskenry.
Mungret St. Pauls made a blistering start to the contest, finding the net early and quickly
building momentum. By the seventh minute they held a 1-2 to 0-1 advantage, and a series of
well-taken points saw them stretch their lead to eight points at 1-6 to 0-1 after just ten
minutes.
Kildimo/Pallaskenry gradually settled into the game and chipped away at the deficit with a
number of scores, but Mungret St. Pauls continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Points
from across the field helped maintain a comfortable cushion as the visitors led 1-10 to 0-4
approaching the midway stage of the half.
A Kildimo/Pallaskenry penalty on 21 minutes provided a significant boost for the home side,
reducing the gap to six points. They continued to press and added further scores before the
interval. However, Mungret St. Pauls responded well with points of their own to steady the ship
and carried a 1-13 to 1-9 lead into the break.
The second half began positively for Mungret St. Pauls, who immediately added to their tally
and maintained control of proceedings. While Kildimo Pallaskenry narrowed the margin to four
points during a strong spell early in the half, Mungret St. Pauls showed their resilience and
responded in emphatic fashion.
The key moment arrived just over ten minutes into the second half when Mungret St. Pauls
struck for their second goal. The major score halted the home side’s momentum and restored a
seven-point advantage at 2-17 to 1-13.
Although Kildimo/Pallaskenry replied with a second goal shortly afterwards, Mungret St. Pauls
remained composed and continued to dominate possession. A steady stream of points followed
as they controlled the closing stages, refusing to allow the home side any route back into the
game.
Scores in the final quarter ensured the visitors maintained a healthy advantage, and Mungret
St. Pauls finished strongly with three of the last four points of the match. The final whistle
confirmed a convincing 2-22 to 2-14 victory and another valuable league win for Mungret St.
Pauls. The result reflected an excellent team performance, with Mungret St. Pauls early goal, second half resilience, and ability to respond to every Kildimo/Pallaskenry challenge proving decisive as they claimed the two league points. They now play Newcaste West in the League Final at the weekend.
