Limerick Players:
Well done to MSPCamogies U14 county players Mia Larkin, Sophia Byrnes, Phoebe Mullane & Aisling Carroll, who were part of the squad that took part in Sunday’s games v Cork and Kilkenny. We were also delighted to have the pleasure of hosting the county players in Mungret with a big thanks rightly being given to our Chairperson Mary Larkin for providing exceptional facilities and hosting the day so well.
Limerick U-16 Hurlers played in round 1 of the Championship on Saturday 23 May 2026 against Kilkenny with Limerick coming out on top, well done to Mungret St. Pauls Jamie Byrne who scored a goal.
The Celtic Challenge Hurlers traveled to Dublin on Saturday 23 May 2026 to Play Antrim in the Tier 2 Semi Final. This was a great win for the team as they now go forward to play against Clare in the Final on June 6. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls Ruairi Dwane and Charlie Tobin who also scored a point in the match.
The Senior Footballers had a tough day on Saturday 23 May 2026 when they lost to Wicklow in Aughrim. This ends their Taltainn cup campaign. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Ronan McElligott, Ciaran Uwatse, Killian Ryan, Jack McCarthy, Darragh O’Hagan, Oisin Moss and Sean Maher who are on the panel with Pa Ranahan, Eoin O’Hagan and Micheál Cahill on the management.
It was a great win for the Senior Hurlers on Sunday 24 May 2026 when they played Tipperary in TUS Gaelic Grounds in the last of the group games, Limerick now play Cork in the Munster Hurling Final. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls Fintan Fitzgerald who was on the match day panel.

Intermediate Camogie:
Our Intermediate Camogie team had a good win v Newcastle West Camogie at home on Saturday night in what was the last of their league group games.

U14 Mackey Camogie:
Hard luck to our U14s who lost out to a strong Newcastlewest Camogie team in the Mackey League Plate semi final on Thursday night. Thanks as always to Wanda Dwane for these fantastic action shots and Referee Nigel Carey Limerick Camogie Development.
U16A Camogie:
The Mungret U16s team headed to Killeedy Tuesday evening to take on the hosts in Round 2 of the Championship.
Captained by Saoirse Browne, the girls defended brilliantly against a strong wind in the first half.
The second half saw them come into themselves, working really hard and putting more scores on the board against a determined Killeedy.
This is MSPCamogies 2nd win of the campaign putting them on good footing going into Round 3 in June.

Intermediate Hurling League:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-10 Knockaderry 1-15
Mungret St. Pauls suffered defeat to a sharp Knockaderry side in the Intermediate Hurling League on Tuesday evening, 19 May 2026 in Mungret, with the visitors coming away with a 1-15 to 0-10 victory.
Knockaderry made a strong start to the contest and put Mungret St. Pauls under early pressure with a point from play inside the opening minutes before striking for a goal shortly after to move into a four-point lead. Another quick point followed as the visitors settled into the game well.
Mungret St. Pauls got on the scoreboard in the 8th minute with a good point from play and began to work their way into the contest through strong efforts around the middle third. However, Knockaderry continued to pick off scores, adding points from both play and frees to maintain their advantage.
Points from placed balls helped keep Mungret St. Pauls in touch during the remainder of the first half, but the early Knockaderry goal proved a major factor as the visitors led 1-6 to 0-3 at the break.
Knockaderry opened the second half with two more points from play to stretch their lead further, but Mungret St. Pauls responded positively with a strong spell. A point from play followed by a converted free reduced the gap before another well-taken score from play kept the home side battling hard.
Mungret St. Pauls continued to show determination and fought for every ball, adding further points from play during an encouraging period midway through the half. At one stage, successive scores helped cut into the deficit and lifted the intensity around the field.
However, Knockaderry always managed to answer the Mungret St. Pauls scores with points of their own, showing accuracy from both play and frees to maintain control. A late exchange of points saw Mungret St. Pauls continue to battle right to the final whistle, but the visitors finished strongly to secure the eight-point win.
While disappointed with the result, Mungret St. Pauls will take positives from the work rate and commitment shown throughout the game, particularly during their second-half response against a well-organised Knockaderry side.
U14 Division 1 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-8 Monaleen 3-12
Mungret St. Pauls faced a tough challenge in the U-14 Division 1 Hurling Championship on Thursday evening, 21 May 2026 in Mungret as Monaleen emerged victorious on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-8.
The home side started brightly and battled hard throughout the opening half, matching Monaleen score for score for long periods. Mungret St. Pauls worked tirelessly around the field and took some excellent points, but a Monaleen goal proved crucial as the visitors edged ahead by the break, leading 1-5 to 0-5.
Mungret St. Pauls continued to show great determination after half time and kept fighting until the final whistle. A well-taken penalty gave the hosts a lift and there were several strong performances across the pitch as the players never let their heads drop.
However, Monaleen’s sharp finishing in front of goal proved decisive in the second half as they added two more goals along with a number of fine points to secure the win.
Despite the result, there were many positives for Mungret St. Pauls with the squad showing great spirit, work rate and commitment throughout the contest against strong opposition. The experience gained at championship level will stand to the players as the season continues.
U14 Division 4 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-7 Croagh Kilfinny 1-8
Mungret St. Pauls claimed a hard-earned victory over Croagh Kilfinny in the U-14 Division 4 Hurling Championship on Thursday evening, 21 May 2026, on the CrescentComprehensive pitch.
The Mungret St. Pauls side produced a blistering opening half performance and made the most of their goal chances to build a strong lead by the interval. Three excellent first half goals helped Mungret St. Pauls into a commanding position as they led 3-3 to 0-5 at half time.
From the throw-in, Mungret St. Pauls showed great energy and determination, working hard in every area of the field. Their sharp finishing inside the forward line proved the difference early on, while the defence battled strongly to limit the Croagh Kilfinny attack to points during the opening period.
Croagh Kilfinny responded well in the second half and put Mungret St. Pauls under pressure with a strong comeback effort. A second half goal for the visitors helped close the gap and ensured a tense finish to the contest.
However, Mungret St. Pauls showed tremendous character and resilience in the closing stages, adding important points to keep their noses in front and secure the victory on a final scoreline of 3-7 to 1-8.
It was a determined team display from Mungret St. Pauls with every player contributing throughout the game, and the result starts their championship campaign moving in the right direction.
 
U17 Division 1 Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-3 Monaleen 4-8
Mungret St. Pauls came up short in the U17 Division 1 Football League Final on Saturday 23 May 2026 in Old Christians, as Monaleen finished strongly to claim a 4-8 to 3-3 victory after an entertaining and hard-fought contest.
Mungret St. Pauls made a brilliant start to the final and showed great attacking intent throughout the opening half. Goals proved crucial early on as the side put Monaleen under serious pressure with direct running and clinical finishing. By the eighteenth minute, Mungret St. Pauls held a narrow 2-2 to 1-3 advantage after a lively opening period.
The game continued at a high tempo with both teams creating chances, but Mungret St. Pauls maintained their edge thanks to another well-taken goal before the break. At half time, they deservedly led 3-3 to 2-3 after a determined and energetic first-half display.
Monaleen responded strongly after the restart and gradually began to turn momentum in their favour. While Mungret St. Pauls defended bravely and worked tirelessly around the field, Monaleen found scores at key moments to edge ahead during the second half. By the fifteen-minute mark of the second period, Monaleen had opened up a 3-7 to 3-3 lead.
Mungret St. Pauls continued to battle right to the final whistle and never dropped their intensity, but Monaleen’s finishing in the closing stages helped secure the victory. A late fourth goal ultimately proved decisive as the final ended 4-8 to 3-3.
Although disappointed with the result, Mungret St. Pauls can take plenty of positives from reaching the league final and from their excellent first-half performance. The squad showed great determination, teamwork and character throughout the campaign and will no doubt learn from the experience as they continue to develop together.

Senior Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls: 3-31 Effin 0-18
Mungret St. Pauls delivered an impressive attacking display in the Senior Hurling League on SUnday 24 May 2026, as they recorded a convincing 3-31 to 0-18 victory over Effin.
From the opening whistle, Mungret St. Pauls settled quickly and showed great sharpness in front of goal. By the sixth minute they had raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead, moving the ball with pace and accuracy while taking their chances confidently from play.
Effin battled hard and kept themselves in touch through a series of points, but Mungret St. Pauls continued to dictate the tempo. The first goal arrived before the midway stage of the opening half and helped create daylight between the sides as Mungret St. Pauls moved into a 1-9 to 0-5 advantage after eighteen minutes.
Despite Effin responding with a good spell of scoring before the break, Mungret St. Pauls maintained their composure and finished the half strongly. A second goal proved crucial as they went in at the interval leading 2-11 to 0-13 after an entertaining first half.
Mungret St. Pauls came out for the second half with renewed energy and quickly stretched their lead. Scores flowed from all areas of the field as the home side’s work rate and movement caused continual problems for the Effin defence. By the eighth minute of the second half, Mungret St. Pauls had pushed ahead 2-19 to 0-16 and were firmly in control.
The defining moment of the game came on thirteen minutes when Mungret St. Pauls struck for their third goal, extending the lead to 3-21 to 0-17 and effectively putting the contest beyond doubt. From there, the side continued to add scores with confidence while also defending strongly to limit Effin’s opportunities.
Mungret St. Pauls finished the game in dominant fashion, adding a flurry of late points to close out an excellent 3-31 to 0-18 victory. It was a strong all-round team performance with sharp finishing, disciplined defending and relentless work rate throughout the field.
The result continues a positive run for Mungret St. Pauls in the senior hurling league and will give the squad plenty of confidence heading into their upcoming fixtures.
