Well done to #MSPCamogies Sophie Lynch and Ava Reaboi who this weekend played Kildare Camogie in Eire Og Gaa alongside their county teammates.
It was a Great battle but Limerick pulled away in the second half for the win.

U17B All Ireland Dev Final
Heartbreak for Saoirse Ahern and her treaty teammates in Dublin today. They battled hard right to the end but unfortunately the hosts got a quick last minute point to push them over the line for the title. Full time score: Limerick 1:09 Dublin 0:13
There was a lot of action over the weekend with the Limerick Minor Hurlers achieving a win over Cork on Friday 8 May 2026 to put them into the Munster final against Tipperary. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls’ Diarmuid Mullins who manages the Minor Hurlers and best of luck to Diarmuid and the team in the final.
The Limerick Masters Footballers were also against Cork on Friday evening, 8 May 2026 and they had a win in their match, well done to Mungret St. Pauls Breandan O’hAnnaidh and his team in their win.
The U15 Footballers played Tipperary away on Saturday 9 May 2026 where they had a successful day with a win. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Harry Nealon and Odhran Bohane who was unable to play on the day.
On Saturday 9 May 2026 the Celtic Challenge hurlers played against Offaly in the Faithful Fields in the Quarter final, they had a great win with Mungret St. Pauls’ Charlie Tobin and Ruairi Dwane on the starting team, with Ruairi scoring a point, they now go on to play in the Semi Final on Saturday 23 May with details to be confirmed.
The Limerick Minor Footballers were in Portlaoise playing Laois on Saturday 9th May in the All Ireland Minor Football Championship Seamus Heaney Cup where they were unlucky to come up short at the end. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls’ Eoghan Hogan who started on the team.
It was then onto the Tailteann Cup round 1 with the Limerick Senior Footballers on Saturday 9th May when they played Wexford in Chadwicks Wexford Park. The result did not go Limericks wayin this match. Mungret St. Pauls had Killian Ryan, Darragh O’Hagan, Ronan McElligott, Ciaran Uwatse and Jack McCarthy on the match day panel with Micheál Cahill, Eoin O’Hagan and Pa Ranahan on management.

Great Limerick Run:
Thank you to all our volunteers who came out to help at the Great Limerick Run on Sunday 3 May 2026. Well done to all our members from all age groups who took part in the Kids run on Saturday and the runs on Sunday. It was noted one of our dual players may be looking to play all four codes as he was seen running as a female! Well done all.
Ladies Football Feile:
Football Feile, Monday 4th May.
Mungret were in a great position to have 27 ladies available for selection for this competition, all at U15. Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go Mungrets way in the County Feile last Monday. Mungret were beaten by a last minute goal in the first game against Old Mill, they then went on to play DromcollogherBroadford and St. Brigids. The players gave it their all on the pitch, with great spirit and determination. They were well kitted out in their Kirby sponsored COBI attire.
Camogie:
A fantastic day in Mungret today at the U8 Blitz, with great skill, teamwork and fun on display from all involved. It was a joy to see all the young players showcasing their talent, enthusiasm and love for the game.
It was wonderful to welcome teams Croagh/Kilfinny, Kildimo/Pallaskenry, Treaty Gaels and Newcastlewest for a brilliant morning of camogie. Thanks to everyone who helped make it such an enjoyable and successful event!
U14s Mackey League:
Well done to our U14 Camogie team on a fantastic performance against Croagh/Kilfinny on Thursday night! Captained by Aisling Carroll, the girls played brilliantly and deservedly claimed the win!
U16 Camogie:
The division 1 championship kicked off at home on Tuesday night for our U16 camogie team as they hosted Newcastlewest in the sun-drenched new pitch.
Captained by Lucy Barry, the Mungret team put in a strong performance under the watchful eye of Referee Morgan O’Sullivan and indeed the crowd of supporters on the bank. Half time saw a score of 3-3 to 0-5 to Mungret and the 2nd half brought plenty of action from both sides but the hosts pulled away from the Magpies and had the deal sealed by full time whistle.
Final Score: MSPCamogie 4-9 NCW 0-9. Up next, Killeedy!
U13 Division 1 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-5 Na Piarsaigh 1-11
Mungret St. Pauls U13 hurlers put in a determined performance away to rivals Na Piarsaigh in Caherdavin on Tuesday 5 May in Division 1 action. Despite a strong effort throughout the game, Mungret St. Pauls were unlucky to come away on the wrong side of the scoreboard, finishing on 1-5 to Na Piarsaigh’s 1-11.
The visitors battled hard from the opening whistle and showed great determination and skill against a strong Na Piarsaigh side. Mungret St. Pauls worked tirelessly around the field, with some excellent passages of play and fine scores keeping them in contention throughout the match.
A well-taken goal gave Mungret St. Pauls a major boost and the team continued to fight right to the final whistle, never letting their heads drop. Their work rate, teamwork and commitment were evident throughout the game and there were many positives to take from the performance.
While the result did not go their way, the players can be proud of the effort they put in and will no doubt learn from the experience.
Senior Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 2-23 Fr. Caseys 0-9
Mungret St. Pauls delivered an outstanding performance in the Senior Football League on Tuesday 5 May 2026, recording an impressive 2-23 to 0-9 victory over Fr. Caseys in Mungret.
From the opening whistle, Mungret St. Pauls set the tone with an early point from play inside the opening minute and quickly built momentum with sharp attacking football and excellent movement throughout the field. A superb two-point free in the seventh minute stretched the lead and Mungret St. Pauls continued to dominate possession, adding further scores from play to keep the visitors under pressure.
Fr. Caseys responded with a handful of scores, but Mungret St. Pauls were playing with confidence and intensity. The first major moment arrived in the 19th minute when Mungret St. Pauls struck for a fantastic goal from play to open up an eight-point advantage. Another well-worked goal followed five minutes later as the home side continued to punish every opportunity created.
By half time Mungret St. Pauls held a commanding 2-10 to 0-3 lead after a clinical first-half display that combined strong defensive work with sharp finishing up front.
The second half continued in much the same fashion as Mungret St. Pauls kept the scoreboard ticking over with a mix of excellent points from play and frees. A brilliant two-pointer from play and another from a free further extended the gap between the sides.
Throughout the field Mungret St. Pauls showed great energy, teamwork and discipline, working tirelessly both in defence and attack. Even as Fr. Caseys battled to the finish and added late scores, Mungret St. Pauls remained firmly in control and closed out the game with another point from a free before the final whistle.
It was an excellent all-round team performance from Mungret St. Pauls, who showed great sharpness and attacking quality on the night while also remaining solid defensively to limit Fr. Caseys to just nine points overall.
U17 Football:
Mungret St Pauls 5-12 Adare 3-3
Mungret St. Pauls produced a superb attacking display on Thursday 7 May 2026 as they overcame Adare in the U-17 Division 1 & 2 Football League in Mungret.
From the throw-in, Mungret St. Pauls played with great intensity and purpose, moving the ball quickly and creating scoring opportunities throughout the opening half. Strong teamwork and sharp finishing helped the home side build momentum early on, while solid defending limited Adare’s chances despite the visitors finding the net once in the half.
Mungret St. Pauls struck for two important goals before the break, giving them a well-earned advantage at half time on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-2. The home side’s work rate around the middle of the field and their ability to turn defence into attack quickly proved crucial during the opening thirty minutes. The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls continue to push forward with confidence and attacking intent. Excellent movement and clinical finishing resulted in three more goals being added to the tally as the forwards caused constant problems for the Adare defence.
To their credit, Adare continued to battle and added further goals of their own, but Mungret St. Pauls remained in control throughout the second period. Their strong defensive performances, combined with accurate shooting and relentless effort all over the field, ensured they maintained their lead right to the final whistle.
In the end, Mungret St. Pauls secured an excellent 5-12 to 3-3 victory after a very impressive all-round team performance in front of the home support in Mungret. They now go on to play St. Patricks in the Division 1 Football Final next weekend.
U13 Division 1 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls: 4-7 Ahane 2-3
Mungret St. Pauls produced an excellent display in the U-13 division 1 hurling league as they secured a deserved victory over Ahane with a final score of 4-7 to 2-3.
From the opening whistle, Mungret St. Pauls showed great determination and sharpness all over the field. Strong defending and hard work around the middle third laid the platform for some excellent attacking play, with the forwards taking their chances well throughout the first half.
Three well-worked goals helped Mungret St. Pauls build a commanding lead before the break, while Ahane scored just two points in the opening period. By half time, Mungret St. Pauls were firmly in control on a scoreline of 3-4 to 0-2.
Ahane responded strongly in the second half and managed to raise two green flags of their own, but Mungret St. Pauls continued to work tirelessly and matched the visitors’ efforts with some excellent scores. Another goal in the second half helped maintain the advantage as the team continued to play with confidence and composure.
The work rate and teamwork shown throughout the pitch were key to the victory, with every player contributing to an impressive all-round performance. Mungret St. Pauls can take great confidence from the display as they ran out worthy winners on a final scoreline of 4-7 to 2-3.
Senior Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-11 Newcastle West 0-19
Mungret St. Pauls battled hard in their Senior Football League clash with Newcastle West but ultimately came up short on a final scoreline of 0-19 to 1-11 on Friday 8 May 2026 in Newcastle West.
The game began in positive fashion for Mungret St. Pauls with an early point from a free inside the opening three minutes. Newcastle West responded quickly and the sides exchanged scores during a tightly contested opening quarter. Mungret St. Pauls showed great determination throughout the first half, with the defence and goalkeeper particularly impressive under pressure.
Two outstanding saves from the Mungret St. Pauls goalkeeper kept the visitors from finding the net during a difficult spell midway through the half, while another excellent stop denied Mungret St. Pauls from a possible goal chance at the other end as both teams created opportunities.
Mungret St. Pauls battled back strongly after falling behind, with points from play and frees helping them regain momentum. A superb score in the 23rd minute briefly pushed Mungret St. Pauls ahead, but Newcastle West finished the half strongly with a run of unanswered points to take a 0-9 to 0-6 lead into the break.
The visitors continued to build momentum early in the second half, although Mungret St. Pauls responded with an excellent two-pointer from play to cut the deficit. Further points from play kept Mungret St. Pauls in touch and showed the team’s determination to stay in the contest.
Despite the efforts of the home side, Newcastle West enjoyed a strong spell in the final quarter and stretched their advantage with a series of points. Mungret St. Pauls continued to battle right to the final whistle and were rewarded late on when a goal from a free in the closing moments reduced the margin on the scoreboard.
Although the result did not go their way, Mungret St. Pauls showed great spirit and resilience throughout the contest, with several strong individual performances and excellent goalkeeping displays standing out over the course of the game. This was the last game for Mungret St. Pauls in the league as they now prepare for the championship.
Junior Football:
Mungret St. Pauls: 0-10 Camogue Rovers: 1-9
Mungret St. Pauls came up just short in a closely contested Junior Football League clash on Saturday 9 May 2026 in Mungret, eventually edged out by Camogue Rovers on a final scoreline of 1-9 to 0-10.
The visitors made the brighter start, striking early with a point inside two minutes before adding another soon after to settle into the game. A major setback followed in the 7th minute when Camogue Rovers found the net with a goal from play, giving them an early cushion.
Mungret St. Pauls responded well to the early pressure, showing great composure to work their way back into the contest. A superb two-point free in the 10th minute lifted spirits, followed by another point from a free shortly after as the home side began to find their rhythm.
Despite Camogue Rovers adding to their tally with both a two-point free and further scores from play, Mungret St. Pauls stayed firmly in the contest. Another excellent two-point free in the 22nd minute brought Mungret St. Pauls right back into contention, and a well-taken point from play before the break ensured just two points separated the sides at half time, with Camogue Rovers leading 1-5 to 0-6.
The second half continued in similar fashion, with both sides battling hard for control. Mungret St. Pauls opened the scoring after the restart with a pointed free, but Camogue Rovers responded with a spell of pressure, tagging on three unanswered scores to extend their advantage.
Refusing to go away, Mungret St. Pauls produced one of the scores of the match in the 17th minute when a brilliant two-point effort from play brought them right back into the game. Another pointed free shortly after kept the pressure on and set up a tense final quarter.
However, Camogue Rovers responded again with a key score to stay just out of reach. Mungret St. Pauls continued to fight to the end and added a late point from a free in the 21st minute, but time ultimately ran out as the visitors held on for a two-point victory.
While disappointed not to get the result, Mungret St. Pauls can take plenty of positives from a determined and spirited performance, showing great character to stay in the game right to the final whistle. This was the last league match for the Junior Footballers this year as they stay in Division 5.
U13 Hurling Division 4:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-5 Coshlea Gaels 1-3
Mungret St. Pauls produced a determined and hard-working display in the U-13 Hurling Division 4 Shield Semi-Final on Sunday 10 May 2026 in Mungret, but were edged out in the closing moments by Coshlea Gaels on a final scoreline of 1-3 to 0-5.
In a tight and fiercely contested encounter from start to finish, both sides gave very little away, with scores at a premium throughout. Mungret St. Pauls showed great defensive discipline and work rate, breaking up Coshlea Gaels attacks and responding with some well-taken points to stay firmly in the contest.
The home side battled for every ball and showed excellent spirit, with their accuracy from play and frees keeping them level deep into the game. However, heartbreak struck in the final minute when Coshlea Gaels were awarded a free, which was struck towards the goal and ended up finding the net to swing the match in their favour at the death.
It was a cruel finish for Mungret St. Pauls, who had put in a huge shift and were only seconds away from keeping their season alive. Despite the disappointment, there was plenty of pride to take from a strong team performance, and the panel can reflect on a courageous display that came down to the finest of margins.

The Mungret St. Pauls minor hurlers and footballers are firing into fundraising action this Saturday, 16 May 2026, and they need your support!
From 9am to 1pm, the lads will be hard at work at the club grounds, taking on the ultimate challenge – getting your cars sparkling clean in the Mungret St. Pauls temporary car wash. For just €10 per car (cash or card accepted), you’ll drive away with a clean car and help support our rising stars.
And if any car doesn’t quite meet championship standard, don’t worry, the coaches will have the perfect motivation lined up for the minors- laps!
It’s all in good fun, all for a great cause, and every bit of support makes a real difference to the players as they continue their journey in both hurling and football.

Congratulations to Mungret St. Pauls player Cathal Sweeney on receiving his fantastic award yesterday. Cathal has shown incredible dedication and innovation through the creation of his Glo-Ball — a speed sliotar that glows in the dark, allowing players to keep practising and striking a ball long after the sun goes down.
After winning the Senior Local Student Enterprise Award, Cathal progressed to the National Finals, where it was announced yesterday that he had been crowned the overall winner of the Senior Student Enterprise Award — an outstanding achievement.
Congratulations Cathal, the future is certainly looking bright.
